Nakuba abantu abathile abanalowombono bekhomba kuMathewu 12:1-8 njengobasekelayo, ukucabangela ngokunakekela imibhalo kubonisa ukuthi leso kuyisiphetho esingaqondile.
Lapho bedlula ensimini yommbila abafundi bakaJesu bakha izikhwebu ezimbalwa, njengoba kwakuvunyelwe uMthetho. (Levitikusi 19:9, 10; Duteronomi 24:19-21) AbaFarisi babagxeka ngokwenza lokhu ngesabatha. Labaholi benkolo babenezele emthethweni izincazelo eziningi, ikakhulukazi maqondana nokuthi wawuyini “umsebenzi” onqatshelwa umthetho ngesabatha. ‘Ngokwalemithetho yabantu,’ nokucabanga okungokomthetho, ngokwalokho abakwenza abafundi babenecala lezinhlobo ezimbili zomsebenzi, ukuvuna (ngokukha izikhwebu) nokubhula (ukugumuza ummbila.) (Mathewu 12:1; Luka 6:1) Nokho, uJesu wathi:
“Anifundanga yini akwenzayo uDavide msukwana elambile kanye nababenaye ukuthi . . . wadla izinkwa zokubukwa okwakungavunyelwe ukuba zidliwe nguye nababenaye kodwa ngabapristi kuphela, na? Futhi anifundanga yini emthethweni ukuthi ngesabatha abapristi balona isabatha ethempeleni, bangaba-nacala na? Kodwa ngithi kini: Kukhona lapha okukhulu kunethempeli. Kepha uma benazi ukuthi kuyini lokho ukuthi: Ngifuna isihawu, hayi umhlatshelo, nga ningabalahlanga laba abangenacala. Ngokuba iNdodana yomuntu iyinkosi yesabatha.”—Mathewu 12:3-8.
UKristu wayebhekisela esenzakalweni lapho uDavide namadoda akhe, bebalekela uSawule owayefuna ukubabulala, beya kumpristi omkhulu uAhimeleki eNobi. UDavide wabonisa ukuthi wayesesabelweni esiyimfihlo esivela enkosini futhi wacela isinkwa. “Asikho isinkwa esivamileyo nje phansi kwesandla sami,” uAhimeleki wamtshela, “kepha kukhona isinkwa esingcwele, uma izinsizwa zizigcinile esifazaneni kuphela.” Wayesho isinkwa sokubukwa (noma isinkwa sokunikelwa), esasingamaqebelengwane angenamvubelo ayishumi nambili ayebekwa masonto onke etafuleni eNgcwele yetabernakele. Njengoba izinkwa ezintsha zazilethwa isabatha ngalinye, ezindala zazisuswa futhi zibe ‘ngezika-Aroni namadodana akhe,’ ukuba bazidle endaweni engcwele. UDavide wathi amadoda akhe ayehlanzekile ngokwesiko, futhi wathi ngokwalowomqondo ayengcwele, enza umsebenzi awuthunywe yinkosi kaJehova egcotshiwe. Ngakho-ke uAhimeleki “wayesemnika isinkwa esingcwele, . . . isinkwa sokubukwa kuphela ebesisuswe phambi kukaJehova.”—1 Samuweli 21:1-6; Levitikusi 24:5-9.
Ngenxa yakho konke lokhu, kuthiwani ngombono wokuthi imiyalo kaNkulunkulu ingase inganakwa ‘uma ukuphila kusengozini’? Abantu baye bathi: ‘UNkulunkulu akakunakanga ukwaphula kukaDavide umyalo lapho ukuphila kwakhe kusengozini; futhi uJesu wakuvuna ukwaphula isabatha futhi wathi ungakwenza okuhle futhi usindise umphefumulo ngesabatha.’ (Luka 6:9; Mathewu 12:11, 12) Nokho, ukucabanga okunjalo kubonakala kukhohlisa futhi kuphambene neBhayibheli.
Ngokwesibonelo, lokhu kucabanga kwamukela inkulumo yokuthi uDavide nabafundi bakaJesu babesesimweni ‘sokufa nokuphila.’ Kodwa ingabe kunjalo? IBhayibheli alisho ukuthi uDavide namadoda akhe babesonqenqemeni lokubulawa yindlala ngenxa yokuthi kwakungekho okunye ukudla okwakungatholakala. Eqinisweni, ngokomlando ongokwezwe, iNobi yayisenyakatho yeNtaba yemiNqumo, okungamakhilomitha ambalwa ukusuka eJerusalema namadolobha amaningi. Ukufunda lomlando ngokuqondile kuvumela ukuphetha ngokuthi uDavide namadoda akhe ngokuyinhloko babelambile futhi befuna ukudla kothile ababemethemba. Ngokufanayo, iBhayibheli lisitshela ukuthi lapho abafundi bakaJesu ‘belambile’ ngesabatha bakhothoza futhi badla ummbila. Kumelwe ukuthi babedlile ngayizolo, nangosuku olungemva kwesabatha babengakuthenga ukudla emizini ezungezile. (Johane 4:8; Mathewu 14:15) Ngakho-ke, uma umuntu efuna ukusebenzisa lezizenzakalo ukuze abonise lapho umthetho kaNkulunkulu ungaphulwa khona, angase futhi athi noma ngaziphi izikhathi lapho abantu ‘belambile’ kulungile ukwaphula imiyalo kaJehova. Ngokusobala lokho akuqondile.
Nokho sisadinga ukwazi ukuthi usho ukuthini uMathewu 12:1-8. UJesu wayedalula umbono wabaFarisi omfushane noncike emthethweni. Singakwazisa kangcono lokhu uma sicabangela injongo yesabatha, nangokuphawula ngokunakekela incazelo kaJesu.
Kungani kwakungamelwe amaIsrayeli asebenze ngesabatha? Ingabe injongo yayimane nje iwukwenqabela umsebenzi? Cha. Yayuwukuthi ukuze iminako ethile, enjengokusebenzela ukudla nezambatho, ingathathi sonke isikhathi sabantu nokunakekela. Ilungiselelo lesabatha lalithuthukisa ukukhulekela kweqiniso ngokuqinisekisa ukuthi abantu babeyoba nesikhathi sokukhulekela ngaphandle kokuphazanyiswa umsebenzi ovamile. (Eksodusi 20:8-11; Isaya 58:13) UJesu wakhuthaza lokhu kuqonda kunombono omfushane wabaFarisi.
Wathi ngisho nabapristi abakhonza ethempelini babengabekwa icala ‘lokungangcwelisi isabatha’ kanjaloke lokwaphula umthetho. Kanjani? Phela abapristi babesebenza kanzima ngesabatha belungiselela iminikelo yezilwane. Ingabe babephula umthetho? UKristu wathi labo bapristi ‘baqhubeka bengenacala.’ Umsebenzi wabo ethempelini, kunokuphazamisana nokukhulekela kwabo, wawukusekela. Njengoba uJesu (‘owayemkhulu kunethempeli’ futhi owayenganikela ngomnikelo omkhulu) ayehamba nabafundi bakhe, babefundisa iZwi likaNkulunkulu futhi kanjalo bethuthukisa ukukhulekela kweqiniso. Ngakho-ke, babengalephuli isabatha ngokukhothoza okuncane kokukudla. Cha, njengoba achaza, kwakungenakuphambana nomoya womthetho wesabatha ‘ukusindisa umphefumulo’ ngokukhipha imvu emgodini, ngisho nakuba kwakuwusuku lokukhulekela.—Mathewu 12:5, 11; Luka 6:9.
Futhi, ngokwemininingwane ‘kwakumelene nomthetho ngoDavide’ ukudla isinkwa sokubukwa ngoba uMthetho wawuthi lesi sasingesabapristi. Nokho umpristi omkhulu kaJehova wasinikeza uDavide. Ngasiphi isizathu? Izinkwa ezazisuswe etafuleni lesinkwa sokubukwa zazi“ngcwele,” zingenakuphathwa njengezivamile, njengalezo ezinikezwa isisebenzi esivamile noma zidliwe ohambweni lokuzijabulisa. Kwakumelwe zisetshenziswe njengokudla kwabapristi, amadoda aqhuba inkonzo kaNkulunkulu. Ngakho-ke lapho uDavide eza kulokho okwakubonakala kuwukuthunywa okukhethekile okuvela enkosini egcotshiwe kaNkulunkulu, futhi nompristi omkhulu ebona ukuthi amadoda ayehlanzekile ngokwesiko, kwakungelona iphutha ukudla lezozinkwa zokubukwa. Lokho kwakusekuvumelaneni nokusetshenziswa okungokwesisekelo uNkulunkulu ayezihlosele khona.
Qhathanisa lokhu nesenzakalo lapho amasosha angamaIsrayeli empini kaSawule ephula umthetho kaNkulunkulu wegazi, njengoba kulandiswe ku-1 Samuweli 14:32-35. Ayekade esempini namaFilisti, izitha zabantu bakaJehova. Ekhathele futhi elambile ngenxa yempi, amaIsrayeli athile abulala izilwane futhi ‘adla inyama negazi layo.’ Kungakhathaliseki ukuthi lokhu kuthiwa kwakuyindaba yokuqeda indlala enamandla noma kwakuyisimo esiphuthumayo, ukwaphula umthetho wegazi kwakungenakuthethelelwa. Kwaku‘wukona kuJehova’ futhi kwadinga imihlatshelo ekhethekile ngenxa yalabo ‘abona kuJehova ngokudla negazi.’
Kwakuyisono ngoba lapho enikeza umthetho wegazi uNkulunkulu wathi nakuba abantu bengadla inyama yezilwane ukuze baqhubeke bephila akumelwe badle igazi. (Genesise 9:3, 4) Akanikezanga zaba zokwephula lowomthetho uma kubonakala ukuthi ‘ukuphila kusengozini.’ UMdali wathi igazi lingcwele. Ukusindisa ukuphila ngegazi kwakungenakwenziwa ngokulifaka emzimbeni nganoma iyiphi indlela. Kodwa ngokunikela kukaKristu ngegazi lakhe emhlatshelweni kwakungatholakala ukuphila okuphakade.—Efesu 1:7.
Umbhalo wamaKristu akuqala avivinywa yizikhulu zamaRoma uvumelana nalokhu futhi ubonisa ukuthi kumelwe singacabangi ukuthi umthetho kaNkulunkulu ungaphulwa ezimweni ‘zokufa nokuphila.’ Ngezinye izikhathi ukuvivinywa kwawo kwakuwukudla amasoseji egazi noma ukufa enkundleni. Ingabe amaKristu ayewephula umthetho kaNkulunkulu ngegazi futhi adele ukuma kwawo naye? Noma, lapho ecindezelwa ukuba ashisele isithixo sombusi impepho, ayeyokwephula umyalo kaNkulunkulu omelene nokukhonza izithombe? Umlando ubonisa ukuthi amaKristu athembekile akwenqaba ukwephula imiyalo kaNkulunkulu ngisho nalapho khona kanye ukuphila kwawo kwakusengozini. Ngisho nakuba alahlekelwa ukuphila kwawo ngenxa yokulalela umthetho kaJehova, ayenesiqinisekiso sokuphila okuphakade.—Mathewu 16:25, 26.
Ngakho-ke imibhalo ayivezi umbono wokuthi imiyalo yaphezulu ingaphulwa esimweni esinzima. Kunalokho siyatshelwa: “Ngalokho siyazi ukuthi siyabathanda abantwana bakaNkulunkulu, nxa sithanda uNkulunkulu, senza imiyalo yakhe.”—1 Johane 5:2.
