SONG 122 Be Steadfast, Immovable!
Look at Your Problem the Right Way
“Though distress and difficulty come upon me, I remain fond of your commandments.”—PS. 119:143.
WHAT THE MAIN POINT?
When we look at suffering the way Jehovah want us to look at it, it will help us to be faithful and we will continue to be happy.
1-2. Wetin we need to do to be able to bear our problem dem? (Also see the picture.)
JEHOVAH value his faithful servant dem. But sorrowful things can happen to plenty of them. (Ps. 90:10) For example, for some of them, their family members against them because they serving Jehovah. Some of them going through persecution or they in jail because of the preaching work. And plenty of them can feel pain because of sickness or old age. Some of them suffering because somebody die from them or something bad happen in their life. Anything na happen in your life da making you to suffer or worry now-now?
2 To be able to bear our problem dem, we mon look at it the right way. Why it important? Let look at this example: The problem dem we can face in life can be looking just like the problem dem you can face sometime when you driving car. Depending on the problem you can decide to go left or right, slow down, or stop small. But to know what to do, you mon be able to see in front of you good-good. But you will not be able to see clear if the car window dem dirty. Da the same way to be able to bear our problem dem, we need to see it clear, the same way Jehovah see it. So in this article, we will talk about (1) how Jehovah want us to look at our problem dem, (2) wetin can happen if we not look our problem the right way and (3) some thing dem we can do when bad thing happen to us.
When we think about our problem the right way, we will know what to do to help us to bear it (See paragraph 2)
HOW JEHOVAH WANT US TO LOOK AT OUR PROBLEM DEM?
3. Why we will always face problem?
3 We will always face problem. So long we not perfect and we living in Satan world, we will always face problem. And since this world going to the end, we will face more problems because of natural disasters and the wicked-wicked thing dem other people can do. (Matt. 24:8; 2 Tim. 3:13) Jehovah will end all this problem dem in the future. But if he do it now-now, it will be just like he helping Satan to rule the world. So, we will continue to face problem so long we living in Satan world.—Eccl. 9:12, ftn.
4. What another problem true Christians can face?
4 We can also suffer because obey Jesus. Jesus always use to tell his disciple dem da people wor coming persecute them because they serving Jehovah. (Matt. 24:9; John 16:2) When we know this one, it can help us to continue to get strong faith when people persecute us. (1 Thess. 3:3, 4) And when we bear our problem dem because we get strong faith, we can be sure da we doing the right thing and Jehovah and Jesus will bless us with everlasting life. Beside da one, we will be showing whether we on Jehovah side or we on Satan side. Satan say da human being can only serve Jehovah because of what they can get from Jehovah. Because of da, Satan can do all kindna thing dem to Jehovah people just to prove da the thing he say da true. (Job 1:9-11) So when we bear our problem dem because we love Jehovah, we can prove da Satan da liar and Jehovah can be happy with us.—Prov. 27:11.
5. Wetin we can learn from Ecclesiastes 7:13, 14? (Also see the pictures.)
5 Da not Jehovah can make bad things to happen. Jehovah can’t act wicked or make bad things to happen to us just to test us. (Jas. 1:13) But then, why King Solomon say da “the day of adversity” is “the work of the true God.” (Read Ecclesiastes 7:13, 14.) Solomon wor not saying da Jehovah can make bad things to happen. But he mean da Jehovah can’t stop every bad thing when it coming happen. In fact, most of the time when Jehovah allow something to happen, the Bible can say da he the one doing it. So wetin we can learn from what Solomon say in da scripture? (1) So long we living in Satan world, we mon expect some days to be good and some days to be bad. (2) We mon also remember da we not know what will happen in the future, so we not able to find out if our day will be good or it will be bad. Problem dem da we not expecting can happen to both good people and bad people.
We mon always remember da we will get good day and bad day so long we living in Satan world (See paragraph 5)
6. Why Jehovah can allow us to go through problem sometime? (Hebrews 12:7, 11)
6 If we look at our problem the right way, we will know da Jehovah teaching us to depend on him and not on ourself. Jehovah can see all the problem dem we can go through and he can feel bad when he see us suffering. Even if Jehovah allow something to happen da make us to suffer, he can continue to guide us, to show us da he love us, and to give us the strength we need to bear it. (Ps. 23:4) The problem dem we can face, can also help us to know our weakness and then with Jehovah help, we can work on it. (Read Hebrews 12:7, 11.) For example, Job needed to work on how to be humble. Jehovah wor not the one who make Job to suffer but he allow it and he use it to help Job to learn good-good lesson dem from it. (Job 42:1-6) So no matter what kindna problem we going through, Jehovah will not allow anything to harm us forever. We can be sure da when we bear our problem dem and remain faithful, Jehovah will help us to “be successful.”—Rom. 8:35-39.
7. Why you can be happy even when you going through persecution for serving Jehovah?
7 We can be happy when we going through persecution. If you going through persecution for serving Jehovah, don’t think da Jehovah vex with you. In fact, when you going through persecution, it show da Jehovah happy with you. (Matt. 5:10-12) When we think about it like da, people will respect us and we will be happy just how the apostle dem wor happy when people persecute dem for serving Jehovah. (Acts 5:40-42) Beside da one, you can even help people who not Jehovah Witness to learn the truth and “glorify God.” (1 Pet. 2:12) Jehovah can even bless us while we still going through the problem the same way he bless Joseph. And when we remain faithful, he will continue to bless us.—Gen. 39:3, 23.
8. Wetin else can help us to bear our problem dem and remain faithful?
8 Our problem dem will end one day. Job example teach us da our problem dem will end one day. In fact, “Jehovah blessed the last part of Job’s life more than the beginning.” (Job 42:12) Da just how Jehovah na promise to bless us in the new world. The problem dem we going through now-now in Satan world, da only for short time when we compare it with the way we will enjoy living forever with no problem. Ehn da good reason here for each of us to continue to bear any problem we going through and remain faithful?—Matt. 24:13.
WETIN CAN HAPPEN IF WE NOT LOOK AT OUR PROBLEM THE RIGHT WAY?
9. Wetin can happen if we not look our problem the right way?
9 When we going through problem and we think about it the wrong way, it can make our problem worse. For example, when we not careful, we will start thinking da Jehovah making us to suffer. Da just how Job wor thinking for some time. And because of da, he start trying “to prove himself right rather than God.” (Job 32:2) Da the same way from the beginning, Naomi blame Jehovah for the bad thing dem da wor happening to her. (Ruth 1:13, 20, 21) If Job and Naomi wor coming to continue thinking like da, they wor coming spoil their friendship with Jehovah. (Prov. 19:3) But Jehovah help them to see da he wor not the one making them to suffer. And he bless them because they remain faithful to him.
10. Sometime when we going through problem, how we can start thinking?
10 Sometime when we going through problem, we can start thinking da Jehovah not get time for us again. This kindna wrong thinking can discourage us and make it hard for us to remain faithful. (Prov. 24:10) King David and the prophet Habakkuk face plenty different-different problems. It make them to start thinking whether Jehovah wor really listening to their prayer. (Ps. 10:1; Hab. 1:2) But it not make them to stop praying. Jehovah answer their prayer and continue to help them. Da the same way Jehovah will continue to help you too.—Ps. 10:17.
11. When we not think about trial the right way, how we can feel when it happen?
11 When we not think about trial the right way, we can be surprise when bad thing happen to us. We will even start thinking da this kindna thing not suppose to happen to us. (1 Pet. 4:12) Da just how it wor hard for Jesus disciple dem to understand da they wor coming go through serious persecution. (Luke 18:33, 34) For example, Jesus make it clear to his disciple dem da he wor coming to suffer and die. But Peter wor thinking da Jehovah wor not coming allow Jesus to suffer like da. Jesus knew da, da kindna thinking wor coming make it hard for him to do Jehovah will, so he correct Peter. (Mark 8:31-33) And even after Jesus die, his disciple dem still not understand right away why he suffer and die. But Jesus not give up on them. So when he came back to life and talk with them, he help them to understand why he suffer and die by “making the Scriptures clear to [them].” (Luke 24:25-27, 32, 44-48) By thinking good-good on what Jesus wor teaching them, it wor coming help them to be prepare for the persecution they wor soon coming face. We ourself too can be prepare for persecution and trials by thinking good-good on what the Bible say about it.
12. When we not look at our situation the right way, how it can make us to feel?
12 When we not look at our situation the right way, it can make us to feel da our situation too bad. Jesus show one way this one can happen in his example about the workers in the vineyard. Some of the worker dem start complaining because they wor thinking da they not get the correct pay. But their bossman tell one of them say: “My man, I not do anything bad to you.” (Matt. 20:10-13) This worker dem complain, thinking da their bossman cheat them because they wor expecting more than what they work for. But their bossman not cheat them. Da the same way some brother and sister dem can feel today. For example, they can feel da it not fair when they not get certain assignment da they want or they take certain assigment from them. Wetin can help us to think the right way when bad thing happen to us?
SOME THING DEM WE CAN DO WHEN BAD THING HAPPEN TO US
13. Sometime, wetin can happen when we face problem?
13 All of us know what the Bible say about suffering. We can even use the Bible to encourage other people when they going through problem. But when it happen to us, it can’t be easy to look at our situation the way Jehovah want us to look at it. For example, maybe you will start feeling da Jehovah punishing you or he not even listening to your prayer. So wetin will help you to think the right way when you going through problem?
14. Wetin you mon pray for when you going through problem? (Philippians 4:13)
14 Ask Jehovah to help you. Tell Jehovah about the problem you going through and how it making you to feel. You can even tell him the particular way you want him to help you. You can ask for his holy spirit to give you the strength and the wisdom you need to bear your problem. But, remember da Jehovah will not always answer your prayer the way you expecting it. (Eph. 3:20) Sometime, he can also use the angels or your brother and sister dem to help you. (Ps. 34:7) So try to see the way Jehovah helping you and tell him thank you for it. He can give his spirit free, and it can help you in any situation.—Read Philippians 4:13.
15. Wetin will help you to bear your problem? (Also see the picture.)
15 Continue doing the thing dem da can make your friendship with Jehovah strong. Even if you not able to do plenty like before, do what your situation can allow you to do. When you going through problem, da the main time you need to think the way Jehovah can think. (Ps. 119:143) So continue to read and study the Bible everyday and think good-good on it. Do what you able to do in the field service. Go to meeting and make comment. Spend time with your brother and sister dem. Don’t spend too much time by yourself even if you feel like doing it.—Prov. 18:1.
Do what you able to do to continue to make your friendship with Jehovah strong (See paragraph 15)
16. When bad thing happen, what some wrong idea dem you can get, and what can help you to change the way you thinking? (2 Corinthians 10:4, 5)
16 Use the Bible to help you think the right way. When bad thing happen to you, sometime you can get some wrong idea dem and start believing lie-lie thing dem about Jehovah or about yourself. (Read 2 Corinthians 10:4, 5.) But you can use the Bible and our publication dem to help you change the way you thinking about Jehovah or about yourself. For example, you thinking da Jehovah not happy with you again? Study about the apostle Paul example. Paul face plenty serious problem dem even though he wor preaching with zeal. But he remain faithful and he continue to preach. And because of da, he wor convince da Jehovah and Jesus wor happy with him. (2 Cor. 11:23-27) Or you thinking whether Jehovah na forgive you for the mistake dem you make before? If so, write some scripture dem down da show da Jehovah can forgive. (Isa. 43:25) Then read and think good-good on this scripture dem. (Ps. 119:97) Or bad thing na happen to you or to somebody you love da make you to start thinking da God can’t protect his servant dem? Make research on why God allow suffering and how he can protect our friendship with him no matter what happen. (Ps. 91:9-12) Also, read about our brother and sister dem who bad thing na happen to and what they do to continue serving Jehovah and be happy.a
17. Wetin we will talk about in the next article?
17 Even if you not going through any serious problem now-now, you can still tell Jehovah thank you and praise him for the good-good thing dem he doing for you. (Eccl. 7:14) But when serious problem come, try to look at it the right way and continue to trust in Jehovah. When you do it, Jehovah will “make it possible for you to be able to bear it.” (1 Cor. 10:13) But what about our brother and sister dem? How we can help them when bad thing happen to them? We will talk about it in the next article.
SONG 150 Seek God for Your Deliverance
a For example, the life story “A Happy Family, Shattered and Rebuilt” on jw.org talk about what help Brother David Maza and his family to bear it when his son die.
