Dey ask him fo show dem one sign from heaven. 2 He sed to dem: “Wen da sun go down you tell, “Da wedda goin be good cuz da sky stay red.” 3 An in da morning you tell, “Da wedda goin be junk today an goin rain cuz da sky stay red an cloudy.” You know how fo look da sky an figga wat da wedda goin be, but you no can figga out wat stay happening now. 4 You peopo dass bad an no stick wit God, you keep looking fo one sign, but da ony sign you goin see iz wat wen happen to da prophet Joʹnah.” Afta dat he wen leave um.
5 Den his guys go da odda side of da watta an wen foget fo bring bread wit dem. 6 Jesus tell dem: “Watch out fo da yeast of da Pharisees an Sadducees.” 7 So Jesus guys start fo talk to each odda fo figga out wat he mean. Dey tell: “Maybe he tell us dat cuz we neva bring bread wit us.” 8 Cuz Jesus know wat dey talking about, he sed: “Why you tell each odda you no moa bread? Why you get ony litto bit faith? 9 You no undastan still yet? You wen foget dat we had feed 5,000 guys wit ony five loaf bread an how much baskets of lef ovas had? 10 Or dat we wen feed 4,000 guys wit ony seven loaf bread an how much big baskets of lef ovas had? 11 How come you no undastan dat I not talking about bread? Watch out fo da yeast of da Pharisees an Sadducees.” 12 Den dey undastan dat he not talking about da yeast in bread, but fo watch out fo wat da Pharisee an Sadducee guys teach.
13 Wen he had come to da Caes·a·reʹa Phi·lipʹpi area, Jesus ask his guys: “Who peopo tink I* am?” 14 Dey tell: “Some say you John da Baptiza, odda peopo say you E·liʹjah, an oddas say Jeremiah or some odda prophet.” 15 He sed to dem: “But who you guys tink me?” 16 Simon Peter wen ansa: “You da Christ, da Son of God.” 17 Den Jesus sed to him: “Be happy Simon son of Joʹnah, cuz one man neva tell you dis, but my Faddah in da heavens had show um to you. 18 An I tell you dis too: You Peter. I goin build my hui on one rock, an death* not goin win ova um. 19 I goin give you da keys to da Govament in da heavens. An wateva you choose fo lock on earth, awready stay lock in da heavens. An wateva you choose fo open on earth, awready stay open in da heavens.” 20 Den he tell his guys dat dey betta not tell anybody dat he da Christ.
21 From den on, Jesus start fo explain to his guys dat he gotta go Jerusalem an suffa plenny tings from da eldas, main pries guys, an da scribes,* an get killed, den afta three days come back alive. 22 So Peter wen pull Jesus on da side fo scold him, an sed: “Lord, you bein too hahd on yoaself. No ways dis goin happen to you.” 23 But Jesus turn away from Peter an tell him: “Get outa my face, Satan! You holding me back from wat I gotta do, cuz you ony tink like one man, not like God.”
24 Den Jesus sed to his guys: “If anybody like be my followa, he no can live fo himself. He gotta carry one torcha pos* jus like me an no stop following me. 25 Whoeva ony like save his life goin lose um. But whoeva lose his life cuz of me goin get um back. 26 Wass da point if somebody get evryting inside dis world but den mahke in da end? Or wat one man willing fo give up fo save his life? 27 Da Son of man goin come wit da powa* of his Faddah an his angels, an pay back each guy fo how dey ack. 28 Garanz some of da guys hea not goin mahke til dey see me, da Son of man, come az one awesome king.”*
