SONG 18 Thank You for the Ransom
How You Can Tell Jehovah Thank You for the Ransom?
“The love da Christ show to us made us to serve God.”—2 COR. 5:14.
WHAT THE MAIN POINT?
We will learn how all of us can tell Jehovah thank you for the ransom.
1-2. Wetin we mon do because Jesus die for us and why we mon do it? (2 Corinthians 5:14, 15) (Also see the picture.)
IMAGINE da house break down on you, and you not able to move from there by yourself. Then somebody come take you from there. Ehn you will be grateful to da person for saving your life? Even if da person save other people too, you will still want show da person da you really grateful to them for saving you and you will always remember what he do for you.
2 In the article before this one, we learn da we not able to free ourself from sin and death. Da the reason why Jehovah give his Son for us so da (1) he can forgive our sin (2) we can get hope for the future, and (3) we can get good friendship with him again. Because of the ransom, we can get hope da we will live forever in the new world. The ransom show da Jesus really love human being. And he wor even having this love before he come on earth. (Prov. 8:30, 31) The apostle Paul say “the love da Christ show to us make us to serve God.” (Read 2 Corinthians 5:14, 15.) This one mean da we mon be grateful for the love da Jesus show us and we mon never forget what he do for us.
When somebody save your life, you mon show da you grateful. So it really important for us to be grateful to Jehovah and Jesus for saving us from sin and death (See paragraphs 1-2)
3. Why the way you will show da you grateful for the ransom, will be different from the way other people will show it?
3 What you can do to tell Jehovah thank you for the ransom? Maybe your answer will be different from other people own. For example, let say three people going to the same place, but each of them coming from different-different area. Each of them will use different-different road to reach to da place. Da the same way all of us want tell Jehovah thank you for the ransom, but we will do it different-different way. Why? Because it depend on how our friendship with Jehovah looking now-now. So in this article, we coming talk about three group of people: (1) Bible students, (2) baptize Christians, and (3) people who not close to the congregation again.
BIBLE STUDENTS
4. How Jehovah can feel about people da studying the Bible?
4 If you studying the Bible, think about this one: The way you want learn about Jehovah show da you among the people dem who Jehovah bringing close to hisself. (John 6:44; Acts 13:48) Jehovah can see what in your heart. This one mean da he can see the way you trying hard to learn about him, and he can be happy when he see da you making some change dem in your life to please him. (Prov. 17:3; 27:11) Da only because of the ransom you can get good friendship with Jehovah. (Rom. 5:10, 11) You mon always remember this one.
5. How Bible student dem can follow the advice da Paul give in Philippians 3:16?
5 If you Bible student, how you can show da you grateful for the ransom? One way you can do it da to do what Paul tell the Philippians. He tell them say: “Anything we na do to make progress, let continue making progress the same way.” (Phil. 3:16) See how one Bible translation put this verse. It say: “We must keep going in the direction that we are now headed.” In line with da advice, don’t let anybody or anything to stop you from walking on the road da will give you life.—Matt. 7:14; Luke 9:62.
6. Wetin Bible student dem mon do if they finding it hard to understand something from the Bible? (Deuteronomy 30:11-14) (Also see the picture.)
6 Suppose it not easy for you to believe something da you just learn in the Bible? Wetin you mon do? Do research on it and pray to Jehovah to help you understand it good-good. (Ps. 86:11) If it still hard for you to understand it, try to leave it small, but don’t stop studying the Bible. Or suppose it hard for you to stop doing certain thing da Jehovah not like? Then remember da Jehovah can’t tell us to do something da we not able to do. You able to do what will make him happy. (Read Deuteronomy 30:11-14.) And Jehovah say he will help you. (Isa. 41:10, 13; 1 Cor. 10:13) So don’t give up. Don’t worry too much about the thing dem da giving you hard time to understand. But think about all the good-good thing dem da Jehovah doing for you, especially the way he send his Son to die for you. When your love for Jehovah start growing, you will see da the thing dem he telling you not hard.—1 John 5:3.a
Jehovah will never tell us to do something da we not able to do. He will help us to do the right thing (See paragraph 6)
7. Wetin young people who their parents bringing up in the truth mon think about?
7 You young person who they born in the truth? Then you Bible student too. In fact da you the main Bible student for your parents. The Bible say: “Draw close to God, and he will draw close to you.” (Jas. 4:8; 1 Chron. 28:9) When you try your best to draw close to Jehovah, he will draw close to you too. Jehovah can’t draw close to you just because your parents bringing you up in the truth, but he can draw close to you because he want you be his best friend. Wetin Jehovah na do so da you can be his best friend? He give his Son to die for you. You mon always remember this special gift. (Rom. 5:1, 2) So before you attend the Memorial this year, think good-good about what Jehovah and Jesus na do for you? Then think about how you want live your life and what kindna goal you will set to show da you grateful to Jehovah for the ransom.b
BAPTIZE CHRISTIANS
8. How people who baptize na show da they grateful for the ransom?
8 If you baptize, you na already show da you grateful for the ransom in different-different way. For example, you na make some change dem in your life to make Jehovah happy and to be his friend. You na obey Jesus command to preach the good news and teach other people about Jehovah and Jesus. And you na give your life to Jehovah and get baptize. Maybe people na treat you bad because you decide to serve Jehovah. (2 Tim. 3:12) But you still serving Jehovah and you faithful to him. This one show da you love Jehovah and you grateful for the ransom.—Heb. 12:2, 3.
9. If you baptize, wetin you mon be careful about?
9 If we been baptize for some time now, we need to be careful. Because if we not careful, we will start forgetting small-small how the ransom important to us. How this one can happen? Think about what happen to the Christian dem in Ephesus. Jesus tell them thank you for the way they wor faithful to Jehovah. Then he tell them say: “I hold this against you, that you have left the love you had at first.” (Rev. 2:3, 4) The thing Jesus say show da Christian can be doing some thing dem for Jehovah just because they use to it. And this one can happen small-small. Da kindna person can be praying, going to meeting, and going field service, just because they use to it. But da not the love they get for Jehovah making them to do it. So wetin you can do if you feel da the love you get for Jehovah not strong like before?
10. Wetin Paul tell Timothy to do and how you can apply it? (1 Timothy 4:13, 15)
10 The apostle Paul tell Timothy to always think about how he can improve the way he can worship Jehovah and serve him with his whole heart. (Read 1 Timothy 4:13, 15.) You yourself too can try to think about what you can do to get more zeal to worship Jehovah. (Rom. 12:11) For example, maybe you can take time to prepare good-good for the meeting. This one will help you to pay attention when you go to the meeting. Or when you studying the Bible, maybe you can go to quiet area where it will be easy for you to think good-good about what you learning. This one will help you to benefit from your study. For example, for fire to continue burning, you need to continue adding wood. Da the same way you need to continue doing this thing dem so you can always be grateful for the ransom and all the thing dem Jehovah na do for you. Before the Memorial, you can also take some time to think about all the good-good thing dem you enjoying because you serving Jehovah. It will help you to be more grateful for the ransom, because da the reason why you able to get close friendship with Jehovah.
11-12. If your zeal for Jehovah not like before, you think it mean da Jehovah spirit not with you again? Explain. (Also see the picture.)
11 If your zeal for Jehovah not looking like the way it wor looking before, don’t feel da Jehovah spirit not with you again. Remember what the apostle Paul tell the Corinthians about the preaching work he wor doing. He say: “Even if I not do it with my whole heart, I still get the work da God give me to do.” (1 Cor. 9:17) What he mean by da?
12 Sometime, Paul not use to feel like preaching. But he still try his best to continue preaching even though he wor feeling like da. Like Paul, you too can try your best to continue preaching even though sometime you will not feel like doing it. So pray “da he can move yor to want do something and give yor the power to do it.” (Phil. 2:13) Continue to do the thing dem da will help you to stay close to Jehovah. Then you can be sure da after some time, the love you get for Jehovah will be strong again and your zeal will come back.
Continue doing the thing dem da will make your friendship with Jehovah strong even if you not feel like doing it sometime (See paragraphs 11-12)
13. How we can continue to check whether we “get faith”?
13 From time to time, it good for us to check to see whether we living our life in line with what 2 Corinthians 13:5 say. It say: “Yor continue to check whether yor get faith in the thing dem yor believe, and yor continue to make sure da yor doing the right thing.” For example, you can ask yourself question dem like: ‘I putting God Kingdom first in my life?’ (Matt. 6:33) ‘The show dem I can watch and the thing dem I can do to enjoy myself, can show da I hate the thing dem Jehovah hate?’ (Ps. 97:10) ‘The thing dem I can say and do, can show da I want peace and unity to continue to be in the congregation?’ (Eph. 4:2, 3) The Memorial season da good time to think about all this thing dem. When we think about what Jehovah and Jesus na do for us, we will want show da we grateful to Jehovah and we will show da we living our life for Christ.c
PEOPLE WHO NOT CLOSE TO THE CONGREGATION AGAIN
14. Wetin can make some of our brother and sister dem to stop coming to meeting?
14 Some of our brother and sister dem who been serving Jehovah for plenty years, na stop coming to meeting. Why? Because some of them can be worrying too much about the thing dem they need in life. And like da, they can feel it too hard to serve Jehovah. (Luke 21:34) Other people can stop because somebody in the congregation say or do something to them da make them feel bad. (Jas. 3:2) And other people can stop because they commit serious sin and they shame to ask the elder dem for help. So wetin you mon do if you not close to the congregation like before? What the ransom and the love Jehovah and Jesus get for you mon make you to want do?
15. How Jehovah can show da he care for people who not close to the congregation again? (Ezekiel 34:11, 12, 16)
15 Think about how Jehovah feel about people who not close to the congregation again. He not forget about them. But he can look for the lost sheep. And when he find them, he can help them to come back to him and he can feed them. (Read Ezekiel 34:11, 12, 16.) You think da the same thing Jehovah doing for you? Yes! The fact da you reading this article show da you still want serve him. Just how Jehovah help you to know him and come in the truth because he saw good-good thing in you, da the same way he want help you to come back to the congregation.
16. Wetin can help somebody who na leave Jehovah to come back to him? (Also see the picture.)
16 Think about this encouragement from the brochure Return to Jehovah. It say: “Be sure da Jehovah will be there for you when you come back to him. He will help you to deal with anything da worrying you. He will also help you to stop feeling bad about something da somebody in the congregation say or do to you. And he will forgive you and help you to get clean conscience. All this one dem will make it easy for you to serve Jehovah with your brother and sister dem again.” Don’t forget too da the elder dem really want help you. They can be “like a hiding place from the wind, a place of concealment from the rainstorm.” (Isa. 32:2) To show da you grateful for the ransom, ask yourself this question: ‘Wetin I can do now-now to come back to Jehovah?’ (Isa. 1:18; 1 Pet. 2:25) For example, you think you can go for meeting to the Kingdom Hall? You think you able to talk with one of the elder dem and tell him da you need help to come back to Jehovah? Maybe he will tell somebody to study the Bible with you for some time. You can be sure da Jehovah will bless you for showing da you grateful for the ransom and for all the thing dem you doing to come back to him.
Ask yourself, ‘Wetin I can do to come back to Jehovah?’ (See paragraph 16)
WETIN YOU WILL DO?
17-18. What the best way we can use our time before the Memorial this year?
17 Jesus say da Jehovah send him to die for us “so da anybody who show faith in him will not be destroy but get everlasting life.” (John 3:16) Because of the ransom, Jehovah can free us from sin and death. So we mon always be grateful for the ransom. (Rom. 3:23, 24; 2 Cor. 6:1) During the Memorial season, let find time to think good-good about what Jehovah and Jesus na do for us. This one will make us to show da we grateful for the love they show us.
18 How you will show da you grateful for the ransom? Maybe your answer will be different from other people. But you can be sure da Jehovah will bless your effort and the effort of the brother and sister dem around the World, who ‘not living to do what they want do, but to do what Christ want them to do.’—2 Cor. 5:15.
