SONG 35 “Make Sure of the More Important Things”

Don’t Let Anything Stop You From Putting Jehovah First in Your Life

“Continue trying to understand what Jehovah want.”—EPH. 5:17.

WHAT THE MAIN POINT?

We will learn how we can continue to put Jehovah first in our life even when we face situation dem da can worry us or take our time and strength from us.

1-2. How something important can stop us from focusing on the thing dem da more important?

IMAGINE da you driving, then your phone start ringing. You know the call da important call. But you know da it more important for you to focus on the road so you can drive safely. Da the same way we can face plenty different-different situation at the same time. But we need to decide which one more important to do at da particular time.

2 All of us can get important thing dem to do everyday. But we know da doing spiritual things da the more important one.a (Matt. 6:33) Da the reason why we need to think good-good about thing dem da can stop us from putting Jehovah first in our life.—Prov. 4:25; Matt. 6:22.

3. Wetin we will talk about in this article and how it will help us?

3 Nobody can plan for something to stop them from putting Jehovah first in their life. But plenty things can happen da can make it easy for us to not put Jehovah first. (Luke 21:34-36) So to help us focus on doing spiritual things, this article will talk about (1) some thing dem da can stop us from putting Jehovah first in our life, (2) wetin Jesus do to continue putting Jehovah first in his life, and (3) wetin we can do to continue putting Jehovah first in our life.

SOME THING DEM DA CAN STOP US FROM PUTTING JEHOVAH FIRST IN OUR LIFE

4-6. What some thing dem da can make it easy for us to not put Jehovah first?

4 Each of us get plenty important thing dem to do. For example, some of us need to see about our health or we get thing dem to do for our family or ourself. Da true, this thing dem important and we need to do them. But you think they can make us to stop putting Jehovah first? It possible, especially if we always be thinking on it and using all our time on it until we not get any time and strength to do other things.

5 Beside da one, plenty of us living in area dem da they fighting war, da get plenty violence, da money business hard or da get sickness da can spread quick-quick. (2 Tim. 3:1) When we going through this kindna thing dem, it can just make us to be worrying all the time.

6 Maybe you even know people who this kindna thing dem na happen to da make their whole life to change. So it normal for them to worry because Jehovah not make human being to just be suffering or worrying. Da the reason why some people can feel da they not able to live their life the way it suppose to be. So to forget about their problem, they can decide to just spend all their time relaxing and doing thing dem to enjoy theirself. Wetin we can do when we notice da something like this happening to us? Let see what we can learn from Jesus da will help us to continue to focus on doing Jehovah will.

WETIN JESUS DO TO CONTINUE PUTTING JEHOVAH FIRST IN HIS LIFE?

7. What some thing dem da could make Jesus to stop putting Jehovah first in his life?

7 During Jesus time, they wor also having plenty thing dem da could make Jesus to not put Jehovah first in his life. For example, people wor having plenty thing dem to enjoy theirself with. And the government wor even having different-different problem in the country. Plenty people wor poor and sick. (Matt. 14:14; Mark 14:7) The Roman government and other Jews make life hard for the other people. So when people notice da Jesus wor having the power to perform miracle, they wanted to make him king. (John 6:14, 15) Beside da one, Satan start tempting Jesus to take short cut to be king. (Matt. 4:8, 9) And one time, when Jesus wor telling his disciple dem about all the suffering he wor coming pass through, the apostle Peter tell Jesus say: “Lord, don’t say this kindna thing dem about yourself.” The thing Peter say could make Jesus to start slowing down in his service to Jehovah.—Matt. 16:21, 22.

8. Wetin help Jesus to continue to put Jehovah first in his life?

8 Wetin help Jesus to continue to put Jehovah first in his life? Da three things help Jesus. First, he learn to think the way Jehovah can think. (John 8:28; 14:9) Second, he continue to do spiritual things. (Matt. 9:35) And third, he knew for true-true what wor really important. (John 4:34) So he refuse to do what Satan say. And Jesus knew da Peter wor trying to help him, but he also knew da it not what Jehovah want. (Matt. 4:10; 16:23) Jesus not allow what people use to say, think or do to stop him from doing God will. Da true, some of the thing dem da can make us to stop putting Jehovah first, different from the one dem Jesus go through. But when we continue doing the three thing dem da Jesus do, it can help us to continue putting Jehovah first in our life.

WETIN WE CAN DO TO CONTINUE PUTTING JEHOVAH FIRST IN OUR LIFE?

9. How you can “continue trying to understand what Jehovah want”? (Ephesians 5:17)

9 Learn to think like Jehovah. When you do it, it can help you to “continue trying to understand what Jehovah want.” (Read Ephesians 5:17.) We can learn what Jehovah want by reading the Bible and thinking good-good on what we read. Even when the Bible not talk anything about the particular situation you going through, you can still know what Jehovah want you to do. How? By studying the Bible to know more about how Jehovah can think. And by also trying your best to apply what you learn.

10. How we can learn the way Jehovah can think?

10 We can learn how Jehovah can think by studying the Bible and thinking about how he help people in the Bible. (Jer. 45:5) When we reading this story dem, we can ask ourself question dem like: ‘Wetin this story teach me about Jehovah? How I can use it to help me look at things the way Jehovah look at it?’ But we know da Jehovah way of thinking higher than our own. (Isa. 55:9) So we need to ask him to teach us how to do his will. (Ps. 143:10) And we also need to ask him to help us understand the way he can think and to be able to think more like him.—1 John 5:14.

11. Wetin Jehovah want for us?

11 Jehovah want for us to be ready when this world end. (Matt. 24:44) He not want us to be worrying too much until we forget about the thing dem da more important. (Matt. 6:31, 32) Da the reason why he give us good advice so we can know what to do when we start worrying too much about our health, our job, place to stay, or other thing dem we suppose to do for our family or ourself. He say da we mon ask him for wisdom and the strength to bear our problem dem and he will help us.—Ps. 55:22; Prov. 3:5-7.

12. Wetin can help us to not worry too much about the bad-bad thing dem da happening in the world? (Matthew 5:3)

12 Continue to do spiritual things. All of us can worry about the bad-bad thing dem da happening in the world. But we not able to do anything about it. So we mon continue to do more for Jehovah. It will help us to not worry too much about this thing dem. We can be happy when we work hard to make our friendship with Jehovah more strong, because da what Jehovah make us to do. (Read Matthew 5:3.) We can make our friendship with Jehovah more strong by studying the Bible and by doing our best to do more for him. When we do it, Jehovah will be happy because we using our time the right way.—Prov. 23:15.

13. How we can “use our time the right way”?

13 The Bible say we mon “use our time the right way.” (Eph. 5:15, 16.) This verse dem not just telling us da we mon use our time to do our own every day thing dem. But it encouraging us to use our time the right way before Jehovah destroy this wicked world. So how we can use our time the right way? If we spend plenty time listening to the news about all the bad-bad thing dem da happening, maybe we will start getting discourage. And like da, we will not be having time and strength again to do more for Jehovah. So it will be better for us to not spend too much time on listening to news or even watching it! Like da, we will not worry too much, and we will get more time and strength to do spiritual things. It will also be good for us to think about doing more in the preaching work, like checking back on more people. We know da it really important for us to use every opportunity we get, to help people to “be save and come to learn the correct teaching about the truth.”—1 Tim. 2:4.

14. How it can help us when we use our time to do spiritual things? (Also see the picture.)

14 When we use our time to do spiritual things, it can help us to not forget the reason why plenty bad-bad thing dem happening. When we see violence, hard time or sickness da can spread quick-quick, we will not worry too much. Because all this thing dem prove da Bible prophecy fulfilling. And because we convince da Jehovah will soon bring the new world, we will not be scary. But until da time can come, let continue to trust Jehovah da he will help us to bear it and for our heart to lay down.—Ps. 16:8; 112:1, 6-8.

Even though plenty bad-bad thing dem happening in the world, try to focus on doing spiritual things (See paragraph 14)b

15. According to 1 Peter 4:7, wetin we mon do and why?

15 Always remember the thing dem da more important. Plenty people in the world today, can only think about enjoying theirself and they can’t even think about how this world will soon end. Even though it not wrong to enjoy ourself, but we not want be like people in the world. The Bible say da we mon be “sound in mind.” (Read 1 Peter 4:7.) Wetin it mean? It mean da we will not spend too much time on enjoying ourself and we will make good-good decisions. And this decision dem will show da we want think the way Jehovah can think. And it will also show da we know what really important and what not important.—2 Tim. 1:7.

16. Wetin Jesus focus on just before he could die?

16 Jesus always remember what wor more important. Even just before he could die, Jesus knew da the more important thing da to do God will. For da reason, he really pray from his heart. But his disciple dem not do it. Instead of praying, they wor sleeping. They “wor really tire” because they wor worrying too much.—Luke 22:39-46; John 19:30.

17. Wetin plenty people can use the internet for, but wetin can happen sometime? (Also see the picture.)

17 Like Jesus disciples, sometime we can feel tire bad way too. The thing dem da happening in this last days, can make us to worry bad way. Because of da, plenty people can spend most of their time on the internet just to forget about their problem dem. For example, they can use the internet to contact their friends and family dem and to share news, pictures, and plenty other things. They can also use it to watch show and play games. But plenty thing dem on the internet to watch and read. So it can make this people dem to spend all their time and strength on it everyday. To not be like this people dem, we can ask ourself this question here, ‘The way I can use the internet, it can help me or it can make me to not do the thing dem da more important?’

The sister to her house trying to read the Bible. But the message dem she getting on her phone from the internet making her to not be focus.

When we make good decision, it can help us to not allow the internet or the thing dem we can enjoy ourself with, to stop us from doing more for Jehovah (See paragraph 17)

18. How we can use our less busy time the right way?

18 It not wrong to relax and enjoy ourself sometime. But we need to make good decision about what we can watch or play, whether da on TV or da on the internet. For example, when we finish watching one video, another one can just come there. And the temptation can be there to continue watching each of this video dem. But some of this video dem can be having violence and rude-rude thing dem. Da just what happen to one of our brother in Asia. From the beginning, he start watching some short-short video online. Then, he continue watching all the one dem da just use to come on his screen. After some time, he start watching the one dem with naked people inside. But the elders and his close friend dem help him to stop. For example, he delete some program dem from his phone and he stop spending too much time on it. This experience teach us da it really important to make good decision about how we will use our less busy time.

19. Wetin can happen if we use most of our time to relax and enjoy ourself?

19 We also need to make good decision about the time we want take to rest from our hard work and about the thing dem we will do to enjoy ourself. All of us need time to rest and enjoy ourself because it can help us to be alright in the body. But if we focus too much on enjoying ourself, it can take the time we suppose to use for the thing dem da more important. (Phil. 1:10) So all of us mon decide what we will do and how much time we will take to do it. When you making this kindna decision, ask yourself this question dem: ‘The time I can take to rest and enjoy myself can show da I using my time the right way? I sure da I putting the thing dem da more important first in my life? I preparing myself for the time Jehovah will destroy this world?’

20. How we can benefit when we continue to put Jehovah first in our life?

20 We can benefit when we not allow anything to stop us from doing the thing dem da more important. (Isa. 48:17) Jehovah can help us to bear our problem dem. We will not worry too much about the bad-bad thing dem da happening in the world. And we will not only focus on enjoying ourself. So let continue to do our best to think like Jehovah, always do spiritual things, and always remember what really important. When we do this thing dem, we will always put Jehovah first in our life. And we will also “get real life in the future.”—1 Tim. 6:19.

a MEANING FOR SOME WORDS: Spiritual things mean, anything da we can do to worship Jehovah. Like studying the Bible, going to meeting, doing family worship, and preaching. We can also do spiritual things when we help to build or take care of our Kingdom hall, help with relief work, volunteer to do some work during our convention, or go work to Bethel.
