Improve the Way You Can Teach Other People the Bible

1. Wetin all of us need to learn and why? (2 Timothy 4:2) (Also see the picture.)

JESUS tell his disciple dem say: “Yor go and help people from all the nations to be my disciples. . . Teach them to do all the thing dem I tell yor to do.” (Matt. 28:​19, 20) This one mean da all Christians mon be teacher. Da true, Jehovah can see the people who get “good heart” and the angel dem can help us to find them. (Acts 13:48; John 6:44; Rev. 14:6) But we still need to teach people about Jehovah. Think about Paul and Barnabas example. When they wor preaching in the synagogue in Iconium, the Bible say da “the way they preach make plenty people who wor Jews and Greek to accept the good news.” (Acts 14:1) It wor clear da Paul and Barnabas na learn how to teach people good-good. (Read 2 Timothy 4:2.) So all of us too need to learn how to teach other people good-good.

2. Why some people can feel da they not able to teach good?

² Some people can feel da they not able to teach good because they not know plenty book or they not able to explain things to people good-good. The Bible even talk about some men dem da use to feel the same way. (Ex. 4:10; Jer. 1:6) Other people can feel da they not know how to teach good because they not conducting any Bible study or they not enjoying their preaching work like other people. Da true, da not everybody we can preach to can want listen to the good news. And da not only because of the way we can teach can make people to want listen to us. Da Jehovah and the angel dem can help us to find people who can listen to the good news. But we still want try our best to tell people the good news so da it can touch their heart. In this article, we will learn three thing dem we can do to help us to improve the way we can teach other people the Bible.

SHOW DA YOU CARE FOR PEOPLE

3. Why people wor happy to listen to Jesus?

³ The Bible say da Jesus “know what in human being heart.” (John 2:25) This Bible verse show da Jesus knew how people use to think and why they use to feel certain way. Jesus understand good-good what the people need, so he use to talk about thing dem da wor important to them. The religious leaders use to make plenty laws for the people da make life hard for them. And Jesus knew da the people really wanted somebody to direct them and comfort them. (Matt. 9:36; 23:4) So in his Sermon on the Mount, Jesus talk about thing dem da wor coming make the people life better. Plenty people wor happy to listen to Jesus because he talk about thing dem da wor important to them.

4. How we can show da we care for people? (Also see the pictures.)

⁴ We can show da we care for people by trying hard to understand what they worrying about. Because we living in Satan world, all the people we can preach to get some kindna problem da can make them to worry. When we remember da one, it will make it easy for us to want help them. For example, maybe we hear about something da happen in the community da people worrying about. Or maybe some parents worrying whether bad thing will happen to their children dem when they go to school. Or maybe the place we living, it hard for people to get work. So try to think about the way life hard on people who not know about the good-good thing dem the Bible promise.—2 Tim. 3:1; Isa. 65:​13, 14.

5. How Jesus wor different from the religious leader dem? (Matthew 11:​28-30)

⁵ The religious leader dem use to feel da they better pass the common people and they use to treat them bad! But Jesus wor different from them. The people use to see da he love them and he care for them because of the way he use to treat them. (Matt. 23:13; John 7:49) Jesus use to be kind and he use to treat people with respect. He wor ‘humble and it wor hard for him to get vex.’ All this one dem help him to be good teacher. (Read Matthew 11:​28-30.) We ourself too mon be kind to the people we can preach to and treat them with respect.

6. How we can be kind and show respect to the people dem who can’t want listen to us?

⁶ Some people can’t want listen to us and some of them can even get vex when we go preach to them. But Jesus teach us to not treat them bad. He say, “do good-good things for people who hating yor. Yor bless people who can swear yor and pray for people who can cuss yor.” (Luke 6:​27, 28) It will be easy for us to be kind to people who can treat us bad, if we remember da some of them get reason why they not want listen to us. Da true, some people can want stop us from preaching. But sometime, other people can’t want listen to us because they going through family problem or they worrying about something else. Or maybe the time we go preach to them, they not feeling good. When we see any of this situation dem in field service, we mon follow the advice da say: “Let the thing dem yor say always be good just like when yor season food with salt, so da yor can know how to answer each person.” (Col. 4:6) When we show da we care for people and know da they going through problem, it will help us to talk with them on topic da will touch their heart.

USE THE BIBLE WHEN YOU TEACHING OTHER PEOPLE

7. Where Jesus use to take his teaching from? (John 7:​14-16)

⁷ Jesus not teach people his own idea. He always use to take his teaching from God Word. He use simple way to teach people so da it can be easy for them to understand it, remember it and apply it in their life. The Bible say what Jesus wor teaching “come from God and he wor not teaching like the scribes.” And it “really surprise” the people. (Mark 1:22) Da time, the scribe dem use to teach people base on what other big-big religious leader dem use to say. But Jesus wor not like them. He always use God Word to teach people. Even though Jesus wor living with God in heaven before, he not try to make the people he wor teaching to feel da he know plenty and they not know anything. But he use God Word to teach them what God want them to do. (Read John 7:​14-16.) Jesus set good example da all of us can follow.

8. How Peter follow Jesus example?

⁸ Jesus disciple dem use to follow his example. They always use to take their teaching from God Word. For example, Peter use God Word when he wor talking to the group of people on Pentecost 33 C.E. Peter not learn plenty book. But the way he use the scriptures to explain the prophecy dem da Jesus fulfill, really touch the people heart. (Acts 2:​14-37) Wetin happen after Peter finish talking? The Bible say: “The people who wor happy to accept what he say got baptize. And on da day around 3,000 people join them to be disciples.”—Acts 2:41.

9. Why we need to use God Word when we teaching people?

⁹ Only the Bible get the power to help people make change in their life to make God happy. (Heb. 4:12) So we need to use the Bible when we teaching people. We not want tell people our own idea, but we want “preach God word.” (2 Tim. 4:2) Proverbs 2:6 say: “Jehovah himself gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and discernment.” So when we use the Bible to teach people, it just like we allowing Jehovah to talk to them. (Mal. 2:7) We want help people to know da the advice they will get when they read the Bible better pass any advice da human being can give. Everything the Bible teach, coming from our Creator Jehovah. And it can help us to know how to make him happy and how we ourself can be happy too.—2 Tim. 3:​16, 17.

10. How we can help our Bible student to understand da the Bible he studying?

¹⁰ When you preparing for somebody study, think about what kindna scripture dem yor will read so they can see for theirself da what they studying coming from the Bible. Even though we can use pictures and videos to teach people, we mon always focus on what the Bible say. So during the Bible study, read the verse dem da will help your student to really understand the main point. Then help him to think about wetin he can learn from the Bible verse dem. Even when you use pictures and videos, help the person to see what kindna lesson from the Bible he can learn. This one not mean da you mon talk plenty or read all the Bible verse dem da in the lesson. And when yor read any Bible verse, give the student enough time to think about it and understand what it mean. And sometime it will even be good for yor to read da verse again. Like da, we will not just be teaching what the book, the picture or the video say, but we will be teaching what the Bible say.—1 Cor. 2:13.

11-12. (a) How we can be patient with our Bible student dem? (Acts 17:​1-4) (Also see the picture.) (b) What some people need to understand about the Bible, and how we can help them?

¹¹ Be patient with your Bible student when it hard for them to understand certain point. Remember da not everybody can be quick to learn. Some teaching can be easy for us to understand, but some of our Bible student dem will need more time to understand it good-good. The Jews in Thessalonica wor not quick to understand what Paul wor teaching. So he continue going to them to explain the Scriptures before some of them start understanding what he wor teaching them.—Read Acts 17:​1-4.

¹² Another way we can be patient da to ask them question and give them time to answer. Try to listen good-good so you can understand the way they think about certain topic. Then read some scriptures on da topic to help them understand how God feel about it. Also remember da some people not know wetin inside the Bible. So maybe you can show them the “Bible Reading Charts.” It in the Enjoy Life Now and Forever! book on the inside cover page. It will help them to see da the Bible get plenty important topic. You can help them to know how to use it by showing them one or two scripture from the charts. So if you show your Bible students how the Bible can benefit them, they will apply what they learn and they will want learn more.

FOCUS ON JEHOVAH

13. When we teaching our Bible student, who we mon talk more about? Give example.

¹³ When we conducting Bible study, our goal da to help the student to know Jehovah and draw close to him. (Jas. 4:8) We can compare our work to somebody who using flashlight to show something to somebody in the darkness. If he want help the person to see da thing in the darkness, he can’t point the light on hisself. He need to point the light to da particular thing. Da the same way when we teaching people the Bible, we mon not talk too much about ourself. But we mon talk more about Jehovah and the way he can think.

14. How we can help our student to make Jehovah happy?

¹⁴ When you conducting Bible study, help your student to love Jehovah. Then it will make them to want make Jehovah happy. (Prov. 27:11) You not just teaching them to do the right thing and to avoid the wrong thing just so they can be Jehovah Witness. You teaching them to do the right thing because you want them to make Jehovah happy. But sometime, it can be hard for some of our Bible student dem to stop doing thing dem da Jehovah not like. When da one happen, you can help them to think about how Jehovah feel by asking this question dem: “Why Jehovah hate to see people doing this thing? Why Jehovah want you to stop doing something da you like?” When you help your student to think more about Jehovah and his good-good ways, da the more he will understand da Jehovah really love him. Then your Bible student will love Jehovah too and he will want make him happy.

CONTINUE TO IMPROVE THE WAY YOU CAN TEACH

15. Wetin you mon do to continue to improve the way you can teach people?

¹⁵ You mon pray to Jehovah to help you think about what you need to do to improve the way you can teach. (1 John 5:14) You mon work in line with your prayer by paying attention to the training da Jehovah can give us during the meeting. You can ask any brother or sister who know how to teach the Bible good-good to go with you on your Bible study. Then ask the person to tell you wetin you can do to improve. Remember da even though you know the topic good-good, your student not know it. So try to think on how your Bible student will feel about the topic. Also help the student to see how he will benefit from what he learning. Like da, you will be helping your student to make Jehovah his friend and your student will really be happy.—Ps. 1:​1-3.

16. If we continue to improve the way we can teach other people, how we will benefit?

¹⁶ One of the thing da can really make us happy now-now da to teach somebody about Jehovah. And in the new world, we will get plenty people to teach about Jehovah. So let continue to show da we care for people, use the Bible and focus on Jehovah when we teaching people. Like da, we will learn how to teach other people good-good.
