SONG 49 Making Jehovah’s Heart Glad

Continue to Make the Change Dem You Need to Make And Get Baptize

“Now-now, da the time for God to bless us.”—2 COR. 6:2.

WHAT THE MAIN POINT?

Da the time now for you to get close friendship with Jehovah and get baptize.

1. (a) How we can benefit when we get baptize? (b) Wetin we coming talk about in this article?

YOU already na give your life to Jehovah and get baptize? If so, it mean da you na ask Jehovah to give you clean conscience. (1 Pet. 3:21) It also mean da you na set good example for the people dem who not baptize yet. To give your life to Jehovah, da good decision you na make! But suppose you not baptize yet? We sure da you too love Jehovah and you want do his will. You also know da it important for you to get baptize for Jehovah to forgive your sins and for you to get good friendship with him. (Acts 2:38-40) But maybe it still hard for you to make da decision. Wetin can help you? In this article, we will talk about (1) wetin can stop some people from getting baptize, (2) why it important to remember da this world will soon end, and (3) how you will benefit when you make the change dem you need to make and get baptize now-now.

WETIN CAN STOP SOME PEOPLE FROM GETTING BAPTIZE?

2. Wetin can make some people to not get baptize?

2 Some people can’t want get baptize because they scare. For example, even though they want serve Jehovah, they can be scare da they will not be able to do what Jehovah want them to do. If da how you feeling, read Bible verse dem da can convince you da Jehovah not expect you to be perfect. But he can be happy with you when you do your best to worship him the right way. (Ps. 103:13, 14; Col. 3:23) If you scare da people will go against you when you get baptize, ask Jehovah to help you to feel the same way the psalmist wor feeling. He say, “Jehovah is on my side; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?”—Ps. 118:6.

3. What else can make some people to not get baptize? (Also see the picture.)

3 Some people who love Jehovah can’t want get baptize because they can be thinking da they not know plenty thing in the Bible. But you think you mon know everything in the Bible before you get baptize? No. Let look at this example in the Bible. When the apostle Paul and Silas wor in jail, some kindna earthquake take place da shake the whole jail house. After da, they preach to the man who wor minding the jail house and they also preach to his family. Maybe the man and his family understand da God perform miracle to free his servant dem from jail. Beside da one, they learn plenty things da night. Because of da, “he and everybody in his house not waste time to get baptize.” (Acts 16:25-33) So if you know Jehovah and you love him with your whole heart, you understand some important Bible teachings, you na repent from your sin, and you doing your best to live by what Jehovah say, then you ready to get baptize.—Mark 12:30.

Paul and Silas preaching in the night to the man da can mind the jail. They preaching to he and his family. All of them listening good-good.

Paul and Silas preaching to the man da can mind the jail. They preaching to he and his family. This one make them to not waste time to get baptize (See paragraph 3)

4. What another reason some people can’t want get baptize? (Also see the picture.)

4 Some people can want make change in their life and get baptize, but they can be thinking da it too hard to do. Da true, it good to think good-good about how your decision to get baptize will affect your life. (Luke 14:27-30) But some people can worry too much about the thing dem they will leave behind to come serve God. Da just what happen to Candace. She grow up around the truth but she not apply the thing dem she learn. Later on, when she get big, she start studying the Bible again. She say: “I knew what I suppose to be doing for Jehovah, but I like the way I wor living my life. I know da it wor coming be hard for me to change the way I wor living my life.” Other people can be worry da they will not be able to live by Jehovah laws. They can worry da when they get baptize, maybe they will commit serious sin and they will move them from the congregation. If any of this thing dem stopping you from getting baptize, wetin you mon do?

The sister studying the Bible with the woman. While the sister talking, the woman imagining herself drinking liquor and dancing with her friend dem in the nightclub.

Some people can worry too much about the thing dem they will leave behind to serve God (See paragraph 4)

5. Wetin you mon focus on if you thinking whether you mon get baptize? (Matthew 13:44-46)

5 When we want buy something, we can look at the amount it will cost and also if it get value. If the thing we want buy get value, we can’t waste time to buy it even if it expensive. Da the same way when you thinking if you mon get baptize, don’t only think about how it will be hard for you to make change in your life. But it good to think more about the plenty benefit dem you will get from having good friendship with Jehovah. Jesus give two examples to help us understand this one. (Read Matthew 13:44-46.) In each of this example, he talk about one man who sell everything he wor having to buy something da really get value. Da the same way, you too na find something precious. And da the truth about God Kingdom. So if you still thinking whether you mon get baptize, think good about this example dem da Jesus give. Maybe you can ask yourself: ‘I convince da the truth da I na find really get value? I value my friendship with Jehovah and the hope to live forever? I also value my brother and sister dem?’ The way you will answer this question dem will help you to see wetin you need to do to make the decision to get baptize.

6. Wetin can help us to apply the thing dem we learning?

6 In Jesus example about the farmer, he explain da some people who hear the good news wor not coming do what the hear. But Jesus also say da some of dem wor coming “accept it and stick to it.” (Luke 8:5-15) So if you worrying because you not sure whether you will be able to apply what you learning, don’t give up. Jehovah can help you so da you can get the desire to obey him. Ask Jehovah to help you to love the thing dem you learning and be able to apply it.—Ezek. 18:31; 36:26.

7-8. Wetin can stop some young people from getting baptize? (Also see the picture.)

7 Some young people who love Jehovah can’t make change in their life to get baptize because of people around them. For example, some teachers can make their student dem to look at some of the thing dem da Jehovah hate to not be wrong. But listening to da kindna advice can cause serious problem in your life. (Ps. 1:1, 2; Prov. 7:1-5) You can avoid problem dem like da by following the psalmist example. He tell Jehovah say: “I have more insight than all my teachers, because I ponder over your reminders.”—Ps. 119:99.

8 Sometime, some parents in the truth can make it hard for their children to decide to get baptize. Some parents can be thinking too much on how much book their children mon learn and the kindna job they will get. Or maybe the parents not just encourage their children to set goal da will help them to get close to Jehovah. Suppose you feel da your parents not doing more to help you to reach your goal to get baptize? It will be good to talk with them about it. But we want you to know da no matter your age, you can get close friendship with Jehovah.—Prov. 20:11.

The boy talking with his ma and pa and he using lesson 23 of the “Enjoy Life Now and Forever!” book.

It good to talk with your parent dem about your decision to get baptize (See paragraph 8)

9. Why some people can’t want get baptize even though they qualify to get baptize?

9 Some people who qualify to get baptize can want wait because they want for they and certain person to get baptize together. For example, maybe they can be waiting for their friend or somebody in their family so all of them can get baptize the same day. Da true, it not wrong for you and other people you love to get baptize the same day. But it mon not be something da mon really stop you from getting baptize. Remember da when you wor telling God da you give your life to him, nobody wor there. So the time you will get baptize mon not depend on the time other people will decide to get baptize.—Rom. 14:12.

WHY IT IMPORTANT TO REMEMBER DA THIS WORLD WILL SOON END?

10. What else can make some people to not want get baptize yet?

10 Beside the reason dem we na talk about, some people can waste time to get baptize because they think da the end still far off yet. So to them, they still get plenty time. But you think it correct to think like da? No. Da why Jesus tell his disciple dem say: “Yor mon also continue to be ready, because the Son of man will come the time yor not expecting it.”—Luke 12:40.

11. When we learn more about Jehovah, wetin it can make us do and why? (Psalm 119:60)

11 We mon give our life to Jehovah because we love him. The more we learn about our loving God, da the more we can love what he tell us to do and da the more we can want do it. (Read Psalm 119:60.) The disciple James also talk about another important reason why we mon obey Jehovah commandments. He say da because nobody know tomorrow. So we mon do the thing dem we know now-now because we not even know if we will live to see tomorrow.—Jas. 4:13-17.

12. Wetin we can learn from the example Jesus give about the grape farm?

12 Think on the example Jesus give about the grape farm. He talk about how some people who work for only one hour wor coming get the same pay like the people dem who work for the whole day. But why the people who work for only one hour not start working soon? They say: “Because nobody na tell us to go work for them.” This people dem wor not just sitting down and acting lazy, it just da nobody call them to work. But by the time somebody call them to work, they join their friend dem and start working. (Matt. 20:1-16) Da the same way today, Jesus na call us to be his disciples and to do the preaching work. When we hear about what Jesus want us to do, we mon not waste time to do it.

13. Wetin we can learn from Lot wife?

13 Some people thinking da they can wait and still make change in their life just before the world end. But the more they wait da the more it will be hard for them to make change in their life. Jesus knew this one so he tell his disciple dem say: “Remember what happen to Lot wife.” (Luke 17:31-35) She know da God wor soon coming destroy Sodom and Gomorrah but she wor not ready yet to leave her material thing dem behind. (Gen. 19:23-26) The thing da happen to Lot wife, show da Jehovah na set time for people to make change in their life and serve him. When da time end, it will be too late for anybody to change their way and come serve Jehovah.—Luke 13:24, 25.

14. The way the thing dem the Bible say happening, what it mon make you to do?

14 The thing dem da happening in the world everyday, prove da the prophecy dem in the Bible fulfilling. Even if some of this thing dem not happening in your area, it happening in other area dem da you know about. So this one mon move you to make the change dem you need to make in your life and get baptize quick-quick. See what the apostle Peter tell some Christian dem. He say they mon “be vigilant,” or “alert.” Da mean, they mon shine their eye good, because “the end of all things [had] drawn close.” (1 Pet. 4:7; ftn.) Maybe “the end” in this verse wor talking about the time Jerusalem and the temple wor coming be destroy. The Christian dem who Peter write this letter to, wor living far off from Jerusalem, so they wor not coming be there when they destroying the city. (1 Pet. 1:1) But when they wor coming see this prophecy fulfilling, it wor coming help them to make their faith more strong in all the other prophecy dem. Da the same way when you see the prophecy dem about the end of this world fulfilling, it mon move you to make the change dem you need to make in your life and get baptize quick-quick.

15. How we can be ready for Jehovah day? (2 Peter 3:10-13)

15 In the second letter da Peter write, he talk about how we mon be ready for Jehovah day or the end of this world. The time Peter write this letter, the end wor still far off yet for this Christian dem. But still Peter tell them to keep da day “close in mind,” or “eagerly desire” it. (Read 2 Peter 3:10-13; ftn.) We can keep Jehovah day close in our mind when we always remember da it will soon come. And we mon do our best to be ready for it by doing “holy acts of conduct and deeds of godly devotion.” Just think about how it will make Jehovah happy to see you doing thing dem to obey him”! In fact, he will be more happy when you give your life to him and get baptize.

HOW YOU WILL BENEFIT WHEN YOU GET BAPTIZE NOW-NOW?

16. What the best time for you to make change in your life and get baptize? (2 Corinthians 6:1, 2) (Also see the pictures.)

16 The best time for you to make change in your life and get baptize, da now-now. (Read 2 Corinthians 6:1, 2.) The big man from Ethiopia who Philip meet on the road, understand da he suppose to get baptize quick-quick. When he understand the good news and see water to get baptize in, he not say: ‘I want learn more about the good news first before I get baptize. Or I will still see other water dem when I go in front, then I can get baptize.’ But he ask Philip, “Wetin stopping me from getting baptize?” (Acts 8:26, 27, 35-39) Ehn da good example here for us? When the man get baptize, “he wor happy and he continue going.”

Collage: 1. The Ethiopian man getting in the water and Philip telling him to come get baptize. 2. The Bible student and the sister from the first picture happy and they talking with the two elder dem to the Kingdom Hall.

We can learn this important lesson from the Ethiopian man: The best time to make change in our life and get baptize da now-now (See paragraph 16)a

17. Wetin we mon be convince about?

17 If anything stopping you from getting baptize, be convince da Jehovah want help you to get close friendship with him. (Rom. 2:4) He will help you if you scary, if you think it will be too hard, or if people around you not encouraging you to get baptize. When you get baptize, you will be having clean conscience. And you will see da the thing dem you leave behind to come serve Jehovah, not important to you again. (Phil. 3:8, 13) Then now, you can be waiting for the time Jehovah will fulfill all his promise dem he make to the people dem who give their life to him and get baptize.—Acts 3:19.
