Amakhono Okuphila
Imfundo yama-Akan yayihlanganisa nokuqeqesha emakhonweni okuphila. Abafana abaningi babethatha imisebenzi yawoyise—ngokuvamile ukulima. Kodwa kwakunamanye amakhono okwakudingeka afundwe, njengokuzingela, ukukhama iwayini ezihlahleni zamasundu, nobuciko obunjengokwaluka obhasikidi. Imisebenzi eyinkimbinkimbi, njengokubaza amapulangwe noma ukwaluka, abafana babeyifundiswa izingcweti. Futhi kuthiwani ngamantombazane? Phakathi kwama-Akan, umntwana wayengeyena unkom’ idla yodwa. Kusukela ebuntwaneni wayeqasheliswa umthwalo wakhe wemfanelo emphakathini. Wayethola izifundo zakhe zokuqala ngalokhu lapho edlala nontanga yakhe. Lapho esemdala wayehlanganyela emisebenzini yokubambisana njengokusebenzela umphakathi. Lapho eziphatha kabi, isijeziso sasingakhishwa abazali bakhe kuphela, kodwa nanoma yiliphi ilungu elidala lomphakathi. Ngokuvamile, ngithatha isaga noma umfanekiso osetshenziswa yilaba bantu, ngiwulungise, bese ngiwufaka ezinkulumweni zami zeBhayibheli. Ngokuvamile lokhu kuzihlaba umxhwele kakhulu izilaleli! Nokho, eqinisweni udumo kufanele luye kulamadoda nabesifazane abaqeqeshwe ngokwesiko.”
Khona-ke, ngokusobala, isikole sase-Afrika sinezici eziningi ezithandekayo futhi sifanelwe inhlonipho, hhayi ukudelelwa. Kungenzeka asizange siziveze izimangaliso zobuchwepheshe, kodwa saveza isimo somkhaya esiqinile, ukuzwana, nabantu abahlakaniphile, abanesimo esikhangayo senjabulo, abanomoya wokupha nowokungenisa izihambi. Khona-ke, akumangalisi ukuthi abase-Afrika abaningi abahlala emadolobheni bazama ukuhlala bexhumana nezihlobo ezihlala emaphandleni ngokuzivakashela ngezikhathi ezithile. Izenzakalo ezinjalo zinezikhathi ezingathandeki. Ngokuvamile abantu abahlala emadolobheni bayashiyeka lapho kuziwa emikhubeni engokwesiko. Ngokwesibonelo, ngokuvamile abazi ukuthi lapho uxhawula iqembu, indlela “efanele” iwukuba uqale ngakwesokudla uye ngakwesobunxele. Noma kunjalo, ukuvakasha okunjalo kungaba okuqabulayo kubo bonke.
