◼ Ngesikhathi uAbrahama (futhi kamuva uIsaka) ethatha umkakhe njengodadewabo, ingabe lokhu kwakuyisibonelo sobuhlobo bomfazi ongudadewabo wendoda obake baba khona eMpumalanga ePhakathi?

Izazi zanamuhla ziye zayithuthukisa leyomfundiso, kodwa kubonakala kunezisusa ezengeziwe zokwenza kanjalo kuka-Abrahama noIsaka.

Uprofesa E. A. Speiser wachaza lombono womfazi ongudadewabo wendoda kuThe Anchor Bible. Wabhala lokho okuye kwatholakala ngokuqondene nabantu basendulo baseHarana okusolakala ukuthi bake bahlala enyakatho Mesopotamiya, kuhlanganise neHarana lapho uAbrahama ake wahlala khona isikhathi esithile nalapho okungenzeka ukuthi uRebeka wayehlala khona. Ukwephulwa kwamalungiselelo obuhlobo obunjalo bomfazi ongudadewabo wendoda kwakuba nesijeziso esikhulu kunokwephula izivumelwano zomshado . . . Ubuhlobo bomfazi ongudadewabo wendoda benziwa ikakhulukazi izikhulu zomphakathi waseHarana . . . Akukhona nje kuphela ukuthi uRebeka wayezelwe abantu abanemikhuba yaseHarana, kodwa umfowabo uLabani wamendisela ngokuqondile kuIsaka, ngokusebenzisa umkhongi . . . Ngakho-ke kunobufakazi obanele bokubeka lemishado emibili, lowo kaAbrahama noSara nalowo kaIsaka noRebeka, ohlwini lwemishado yabantu abathatha abafazi babo njengodadewabo.”

Umlando kaGenesise usitshela ukuthi uAbrahama izikhathi ezimbili wathatha umkakhe uSara (owayengudadewabo woqobo kwenye indlu) njengodadewabo, hhayi njengomkakhe. Lokhu kwenzeka lapho beseGibithe nalapho futhi besezweni lamaFilisti. (Genesise 12:10-20; 20:1-7) UIsaka walandela inkambo efanayo ngoRebeka. Njengoba uIsaka noRebeka babehlobene, wayengambiza ngokuthi udadewabo.—Genesise 26:6-11.

Kulezigigaba uAbrahama noIsaka babefuna abafazi babo ukuba bacatshangelwe njengawodadewabo ngenxa yengozi eyayisobala kubo njengamadoda abo uma kutholakala ukuthi laba besifazane abahle babeshadile. (Genesise 12:12; 26:9) Ngakho-ke akubonakali ukuthi lamadoda ayethatha ubuhlobo obucatshangelwayo bomfazi ongudadewabo wendoda njengesivikelo; injongo yayiwukufihla uSara noRebeka njengabashadile.

UAbrahama washada nodadewabo wakwenye indlu ngaphambi kokuba uNkulunkulu anikeze uIsrayeli imithetho emelene nokuganana kwezihlobo okunjalo. Nakuba kunjalo, abaningi babekugxeka ukuthatha kwakhe (nokukaIsaka) umkakhe njengodadewabo. Yebo, kumelwe singakhohlwa ukuthi ngezinye izikhathi iBhayibheli like lilandise ngezigigaba elingavumelani nokuziphatha okuhilelekile kuzo. (Genesise 9:20, 21; 19:30-38) Nokho kunezindlela zokubheka lokho uAbrahama noSara noIsaka noRebeka abakwenza okuhambisana nokuma kwabo okuyisibonelo phambi kukaNkulunkulu.

Ngaphambi kokuba lezigigaba zenzeke, uNkulunkulu watshela uAbrahama: “Ngiyakukwenza isizwe esikhulu, ngikubusise, ngenze igama lakho libe likhulu, wena ube yisibusiso. Ngiyakubabusisa abakubusisayo, nokuqalekisayo ngiyakumqalekisa; imindeni yonke yomhlaba iyakubusiswa kuwe.” (Genesise 12:2, 3) UJehova wabonisa futhi ukuthi isibusiso sasixhomeke enzalweni ka-Abrahama. (Genesise 12:7; qhathanisa noGenesise 15:4, 5; 17:4-8; 22:15-18.) Ngakho-ke, uAbrahama (futhi kamuva uIsaka) kwakudingeka ukuba ahlale ephila ukuze azale lenzalo.

Lokhu ngokusobala kwakungase kushukumisele uAbrahama noIsaka ukuba bathathe abafazi babo abathembekile njengawodadewabo. Uma ukwazi kwabantu kokuthi uAbrahama wayeyindoda engokomthetho kaSara ofiselekayo, nokuthi uIsaka wayeyindoda kaRebeka othandekayo, kwakungase kufake engozini umzila wenzalo, lamadoda okholo kungenzeka abona ukuthi kwakuyoba okungafanelekile ukwenza ubuhlobo obunjalo baziwe lapho babesendaweni eyingozi.

USara uphawulwa njengalowo oyisibonelo sokholo nowesifazane ‘owayethemba uNkulunkulu.’ (1 Petru 3:5, 6; Heberu 11:11) Wakhetha ukwamukela isinqumo esasithathwe yinhloko yakhe yomkhaya futhi esikhathini esithile akazange akwazise obala ukushada kwakhe. Kuyoba kuhle ukubheka lokhu njengokungenziwanga ngezinhloso zobugovu, ukufihlwa kwemizwelo yomuntu nezithakazelo ukuze sonke isintu sithole isibusiso. Futhi, ngokubona ukuthi uJehova wamvikela kuFaro futhi kamuva kuAbimeleki, inkosi yaseGerari, akumangalisi ukuthi uRebeka walandela ngesibindi inkambo efanayo ekusebenzelaneni noIsaka, naye futhi okwakuyindoda eyayinokholo olukhulu.—Heberu 11:20.

Ngakho-ke, kungakhathaliseki ukuthi abantu baseKhanani nabaseGibithe babazi noma bengazi ngemishado yomfazi ongudadewabo wendoda okusolakala ukuthi yake yaba khona eHarana, ngokwezinto ezihilelekile, inkambo eyathathwa uAbrahama noSara noIsaka noRebeka yayishukunyiswa izimiso nezinjongo eziphakeme.
