STUDY 6

Your Reason for Reading the Scripture Must Be Clear

Cited scripture

John 10:33-36

WETIN YOU MUST DO: Don’t just read the Bible verse and jump to the next point. Make sure the people understand how the scripture you come from reading go in line with the point you want make.

HOW TO DO IT:

  • Show the main word them. When you finish reading the scripture, show the main word them that go in line with your main point. You can do this one by saying those words again or by asking question that will help the people find the main word them.

    Practical tip

When you explaining the verse in your own words, make sure that the people can see clearly how the word them in the Bible still go in line with your main point.

  • Make the point clear. If before reading the scripture you gave reason for reading it, you must be able to explain how the main word them in that verse go in line with the reason you gave.

    Practical tip

When you explaining the scripture, you must keep your Bible open. It will help the people to keep their Bible open too. Then, they will see the main point you explaining in the Bible.

  • The way you apply the scripture must be simple. Don’t talk on other part of the verse that not get anything to do with the main point. See what the people already know about the topic. Then decide the important parts you will talk about to help them understand the main point.
