JEHOVAH send his son who he really love on the earth about 2,000 years ago. Why? One reason da to free human being from sin and death and to make it possible for all the problem da Satan na cause, to finish. (John 3:16; 1 John 3:8) Jehovah also knew da the thing dem Jesus wor going to pass through on earth wor coming prepare him to be High Priest da can feel sorry us. So Jesus become High Priest after he get baptize in 29 C.E.a

² In this article, we coming talk about how the thing dem Jesus pass through when he wor on earth, help him to be High Priest who can feel sorry for people. It good for us to understand this one. And da because it will make it more easy for us to pray to Jehovah and get close to him, even if we feeling bad because we make mistake.—Read Hebrews 5:​7-9.

3-4. How Jesus life change when he come on earth?

³ Plenty of us na pass through thing dem da change our life. For example, some of us na move from the place we like, leave our family and friend dem behind and move to different place. When this one happen, it can’t be easy. But nobody na pass through what Jesus pass through. He wor the first and most important angel in heaven. Jehovah use to love him and he wor always happy because he use to work side by side with his Pa.” (Ps. 16:11; Prov. 8:30) But, Philippians 2:7 say da he wor willing to leave all this thing dem in heaven to come on earth and live among human being dem who not perfect.

⁴ Also think about the time Jesus wor born and the time he wor still small. For example, Jesus wor born in poor family. We know it from the small sacrifice they make when he wor born. (Lev. 12:8; Luke 2:24) When wicked King Herod hear da they na born the Messiah, he try to kill him. To save Jesus from Herod, the family run away to Egypt and they stay there for some time as refugees. (Matt. 2:​13, 15) Jesus life really change when he come on earth!

5. What some thing dem Jesus see when he wor on earth, and how it help him? (Also see the picture.)

⁵ When Jesus wor on earth, he see plenty people suffering. Jesus understand how human being can feel when somebody die from them. Because people die from him too, like his pa, Joseph. Jesus also use to see people who wor sick, blind, cripple, and people who their children die. And he really use to feel sorry for them. (Matt. 9:​2, 6; 15:30; 20:34; Mark 1:​40, 41; Luke 7:13) Da true, Jesus use to see people suffering when he wor in heaven. But now da he wor on earth, he wor able to understand good-good how human being can feel when they suffering. (Isa. 53:4) The thing dem he pass through on earth, help him to understand the different-different situation dem da can make human being to suffer. And just like other human being dem, Jesus too use to get tire and really feel bad.

6. Wetin we learn about Jesus from the prophecy in Isaiah? (Isaiah 42:3)

⁶ When Jesus wor on earth, he fulfill the prophecy in Isaiah. He do it by showing da he wor really sorry for people who other people use to treat bad. Sometime, the Hebrew Scriptures can compare strong and rich people to garden da growing fresh or to tall tree. (Ps. 92:12; Isa. 61:3; Jer. 31:12) But it compare poor people and people who other people can treat bad to tall grass da already bend and to lampton wick da already going off. And when this thing dem looking like da, they can’t get any use. (Read Isaiah 42:3) Jehovah use this example dem to show how Jesus wor coming show love and feel sorry for people who other people use to overlook.

7-8. How Jesus fulfill Isaiah prophecy?

⁷ Matthew show da Jesus fulfill Isaiah prophecy when he say: “He will not cut any tall grass da already bend, and he will not cut off any wick da already going off.” (Matt. 12:20) Jesus perform miracle for plenty people who other people use to treat bad and people who wor thinking da their life will not get better. For example, Jesus see one man who wor having leprosy. Maybe he wor not having any hope da he will get better to be with his family and friend dem again. (Luke 5:​12, 13) He also see one other man who wor not able to hear and talk. Imagine how this man use to feel when he see people lecturing but he can’t understand any thing they saying. (Mark 7:​32, 33) But da not all.

⁸ In Jesus time, plenty Jews use to believe da people use to get sick or cripple, because of their own sin or their parents sin. (John 9:2) Because of da wrong belief, people use to treat cripple and sick people bad. But Jesus heal them and help them to know da God care for them. Wetin we can learn from this one?

9. How Hebrews 4:​15, 16 show da Jesus will always feel sorry for us?

⁹ Read Hebrews 4:​15, 16. We can be sure da Jesus will always sympathize with us. The Greek word they use for “sympathize” mean to really feel the pain da other people going through. Da the same Greek word Paul use in Hebrews 10:34. When we read about the miracle dem da Jesus perform, we can see da he really use to feel sorry for the people da wor suffering. He not use to heal people just because he feel he suppose to do it. But he do it because he really care for them and he wanted to help them. For example, Jesus wor not force to touch the man with the leprosy but he do it. And maybe da wor the first time for somebody to even touch this man since he get sick! Then when Jesus wor healing the man who can’t hear, he carry him to quiet place where nobody wor eh. Also think about the woman who repent and wash Jesus foot with her tears and dry it with her hair. When one Pharisee wor not kind to the woman, Jesus protect her and give the Pharisee strong counsel. (Matt. 8:3; Mark 7:33; Luke 7:44) We can see da Jesus not use to avoid people who wor sick or who commit serious sin. But he invite them to come to him and show them da he love them. So we can be sure da Jesus will always feel sorry for us too.

HOW WE CAN FOLLOW OUR HIGH PRIEST EXAMPLE TODAY?

10. What some thing dem we can use today to help blind people and people who can’t hear? (Also see the pictures.)

¹⁰ Because we Jesus disciple, we can do our best to follow his example by showing love to people and feeling sorry for them. (1 Pet. 2:21; 3:8) Even though we not able to heal people who can’t hear or blind people, we able to help them to learn about Jehovah and get close to him. For example, we get Bible publications in more than 100 sign language. And we get publications for blind people in more than 60 language. And we also get audio recording da can explain what happening in our video dem in more than 100 language. This one can help blind people to benefit from the video dem. All this one dem can help people who can’t hear and blind people to draw close to Jehovah and his Son Jesus.

11. How Jehovah organization following Jesus example to feel sorry for people? (Acts 2:​5-7, 33) (Also see the pictures.)

¹¹ Jehovah organization can try hard to help people every where to get close to Jehovah. The time Jesus come back to life, he give holy spirit to his disciple dem. He do it so da all the people who wor to the festival of Pentecost can hear the good news in “their own language.” (Read Acts 2:​5-7, 33.) Jesus directing the organization to make publications in more than 1,000 language. It helping people who can speak this language dem to learn about Jehovah even if they not plenty. For example, they get some language dem in North and South America da only small group of people can speak. But the organization na make publication in more than 160 of this language dem. They do it so da the people who can speak this language dem can get the chance to hear the good news. We also get publications in more than 20 language da the Roma people can speak. Plenty people who can speak this language dem na come in the truth.

12. Wetin else Jehovah organization doing to help his people today?

¹² Beside helping people to learn the good news, Jehovah organization can also help people who can suffer because of natural disasters. Da why plenty people can volunteer to help their brother and sister dem who need help. The organization can also help to provide simple meeting place where people can come together to learn more about God love for them.

13. How Jesus can help us?

¹³ Because Jesus da our good shepherd, he can make sure da we get everything we need to continue to be close to Jehovah. (John 10:14; Eph. 4:7) Sometime when we going through problem, we can just be like lampton wick da already going off or tall grass da already bend. We can get discourage maybe because we sick, we make mistake or we and somebody in the congregation get problem. When we not take time, we can only be thinking on our problem and forget about our hope for the future. But remember da Jesus understand what you going through and he know how you feeling. And he want help you because he feeling sorry for you. For example, he can use holy spirit to give you strength when you weak. (John 16:7; Titus 3:6) Beside da one, Jesus can use the elders and the brother and sister dem in the congregation to encourage you and help you.—Eph. 4:8.

14. Wetin we mon do when we feeling discourage?

¹⁴ If you feeling discourage, think good-good on the work Jesus doing as our High Priest. Remember da Jehovah not only send him on the earth to die for us. But he also come on earth to better understand the problem dem da human being going through. So when we feeling discourage because we commit sin, Jesus ready and willing to help us “at the right time.”—Heb. 4:​15, 16.

15. Wetin help one brother to come back to the congregation?

¹⁵ Jesus can also direct his people to help people who na leave Jehovah to come back to him. (Matt. 18:​12, 13) Let look at Stefano experience.b They move him from the congregation. After 12 years, one day he decide to go to meeting. He say: “It wor not easy for me, but I wanted to serve Jehovah with my brother and sister dem again. The elder dem who meet with me make me to feel free. Sometime, I use to want give up because I use to feel bad da I leave Jehovah. But the brother dem remind me da Jehovah and Jesus not want me to give up. When they reinstate me, the congregation really show me love. Later on, my wife start studying the Bible, and today we serving Jehovah together.” When all of us try our best to help people who repent to come back to the congregation, our loving High Priest can really be happy!

16. Why we mon be happy da we get High Priest who can feel sorry for us?

¹⁶ When Jesus wor on earth, he help plenty people the right time. Today, we can be convince too da he will help us anytime we need help. And in the new world, he will help us to be free from all the problem dem we going through because of sin. We want tell our God Jehovah thank you plenty. Because he show us real love by making his Son to be our High Priest who can feel sorry for us!
