Acts (The Things the Apostle Dem Do)
21 It wor really hard for us to leave them. But when we left them, we went straight to Cos. The next day we went to Rhodes, and from there we went to Patʹa·ra. 2 When we saw one ship da wor going to Phoe·niʹcia, we got inside it and left from there. 3 We saw the island of Cyʹprus on the left hand side and we pass by it and went to Syria. Then we reach to Tyre, where they take the load dem from in the ship. 4 We look for the disciple dem and after we find them we stay with them for seven days. But the disciple dem tell Paul over and over to not go to Jerusalem because of what the holy spirit show them. 5 When the time reach for us to go, we left from there and started going. And all of them, even the women and the children dem follow us until we reach outside the city. And we kneel down on the beach and pray. 6 After da we tell each other bye-bye. Then we enter the ship, and they went back to their house dem.
7 We got in the ship and left from Tyre and reach to Ptol·e·maʹis. We speak to the brother dem and spend one day with them. 8 The next day we left from there and came to Caes·a·reʹa, and we enter Philip house. Philip use to preach the good news and he wor one of the seven men the apostle dem choose in Jerusalem. And we spend some time with him. 9 This man wor having four daughters who wor not marry, and they use to prophesy. 10 But after we spend some days there, one prophet name Agʹa·bus came down from Ju·deʹa. 11 He came to us and take Paul belt and tie his own foot and hands with it. He say: “The holy spirit say, ‘Da just how the Jews will tie the person who get this belt in Jerusalem, and they will give him to people from other nations.’” 12 When we hear this one, we and the people who wor there started begging him to not go to Jerusalem. 13 Then Paul say: “Why yor crying and why yor trying to discourage me? Yor mon know da I ready for them to tie me and also to die in Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus.” 14 When we saw da we wor not able to change his mind, we stop begging him and we say: “The thing Jehovah* want, let it happen.”
15 After this one, we got ready and started going to Jerusalem. 16 Some of the disciple dem from Caes·a·reʹa also follow us. They carry us to Mnaʹson house where we suppose to stay. Mnaʹson wor from Cyʹprus, and he wor one of the first disciple dem. 17 When we reach to Jerusalem, the brother dem wor really happy to welcome us. 18 But the next day, we and Paul went to see James, and all the elder dem wor there. 19 Paul speak to them and started telling them about all the thing dem God do among the people from different nations through his preaching work.
20 After they hear this one, they started praising God. But they tell him say: “Brother, you know how plenty people na accept the good news among the Jews and how all of them obeying the Law with their whole heart. 21 But they hear people talking about how you na teach all the Jews da living in other country dem to turn against Moses Law. And da you na tell them to not circumcise their children or follow the tradition dem. 22 So wetin we will do about it? They will surely hear da you na come. 23 So do what we tell you: We get four men dem who na make promise to God. 24 Carry this men dem with you and yor mon clean yourself just how the Law say it. Pay for the thing dem they need so da they can cut their hair. Then everybody will know da the thing dem they hear about you da lie, but you living by what the Law say. 25 But for the people who from other nations da accept the good news, we na write letter about what we decide and send it to them. And we tell them to stay away from thing dem they sacrifice to false gods, from animal dem da they kill without cutting the throat, from blood, and from sexual immorality.”*
26 The next day, Paul carry them. He and the men dem clean theirself just how the Law say it. And he went in the temple to show on which day the seven days for cleaning theirself will end, so da the priest can make sacrifice for each of them on da day.
27 When the seven days wor coming end, the Jews da came from Asia saw him in the temple. They make all the people to be really vex with Paul and they grab him. 28 They wor shouting and they say: “People from Israel, yor help us! Da the man who been teaching everybody all over to go against our people, our Law, and this temple. Beside this one, he also bring Greek people in the temple, and they na make this holy place to not be holy again.” 29 They say this one because they saw Trophʹi·mus who wor from E·pheʹsus with Paul in the city, and they started thinking da Paul carry him in the temple. 30 And all the people in the city started demonstrating. They run to the temple and grab Paul and drag him outside the temple area, and right away they close the gate. 31 When they wor trying to kill him, the army commander* hear da all the people in Jerusalem wor demonstrating. 32 Right away he take some soldier people and some army officer dem* and they rush there. When they saw the army commander and the soldier people, they stop beating Paul.
33 Then the army commander came and arrest Paul and give the command for them to tie him with two chains. Then he ask, ‘Who this man and wetin he na do?’ 34 But some of the people started yelling and saying different-different thing dem. He wor not able to understand anything because of the noise. So he give the command to bring him to the place the soldier people wor living. 35 But when Paul reach to the stairs, the soldier people hold him and carry him because the people wanted to hurt him. 36 The plenty people continue to follow them and they wor shouting and saying: “Yor kill him!”
37 When they wor coming enter to the place the soldier people wor living, Paul ask the army commander: “I can say something to you?” The commander say: “You can speak Greek? 38 Ehn da you the man from Egypt who some time ago make people to fight against the government? Ehn da you take 4,000 men dem da wor having weapons and went in the wilderness?” 39 Then Paul say: “I Jew from Tarsus da in Ci·liʹcia, and everybody know da city. So I begging you to please allow me to talk to the people.” 40 After he allow Paul to talk to the people, Paul stand on the stairs, and throw sign to the people with his hand.
