SONG 54 “This Is the Way”
Be Quick to Help People Who Get “Good Heart”
“All those who wor having good heart and wanted to live forever accept the good news.”—ACTS 13:48.
WHAT THE MAIN POINT?
We will learn how we can tell somebody da we want study the Bible with them and how we can invite them to the meetings.
1. Wetin some people can do when they hear the good news for the first time? (Acts 13:47, 48; 16:14, 15)
DURING the apostle dem time, when plenty people hear the good news for the first time, they wor happy and they wanted to be Christian right away. (Read Acts 13:47, 48; 16:14, 15.) Da the same way today, when some people hear the good news for the first time they can be happy. And even though some people can’t show interest for the first time but later on, some of them can show interest. Wetin we mon do when we see people who show interest?
2. How our preaching work looking just like garden work?
2 Let look at this example. Our preaching work looking just like garden work. When somebody make garden, some of the thing dem he plant can be ready for harvesting before the other one dem. Even though he will harvest the one dem da ready, he will still be taking care of the one them da not ready yet. Da the same way when we find somebody who want listen to our message, we want help them quick-quick to be disciple. But at the same time, we want continue trying to help other people who not ready yet, to see why it good to study the Bible. (John 4:35, 36) When we understand whether somebody ready or they not ready, we will know how to really help them. In this article, we coming talk about wetin we can do the first time we talking with somebody who want listen. We will also talk about how we can continue helping the person to get close to Jehovah and serve him.
HOW WE CAN HELP PEOPLE WHO WANT LEARN ABOUT GOD?
3. Wetin we mon do when we see somebody who show interest? (1 Corinthians 9:26)
3 When we see people who show interest, we want be quick to help them to learn about Jehovah and get close to him. So the same day we talk with the person, we mon tell them da we want study the Bible with them and invite them to the meetings.—Read 1 Corinthians 9:26.
4. Wetin you learn from the experience in the paragraph?
4 How to tell somebody da you want study the Bible with them? Some people we can talk with, can be ready to start studying the Bible right away. For example, let talk about one young woman in Canada. On one Thursday, she went to the literature cart and take the Enjoy Life Now and Forever! brochure. The sister who wor to the cart tell the young woman da she can use the brochure to study the Bible with her for free. The young woman show interest and give her number to the sister and take the sister number. Later on da same day, the young woman send the sister text and ask what time they will do the study. The sister tell her da they will do the study during the weekend. But the young woman say: “You can’t come tomorrow? I will be having chance.” So they start the study da Friday. Then the young woman attend her first meeting da same week on Sunday and she continue getting close to Jehovah.
5. Wetin we mon do when we see somebody who not ready to study the Bible yet? (Also see the pictures.)
5 But da not everybody will be like da young woman to want study the Bible right away. It can take time for some people to show interest. But we can still help the person. To do it, we mon first start with topic da they get interest in. We mon also continue showing interest in them, and get hope da one day they will listen. When we do it, sometime it can’t stay long for the person to start studying. But how we can say it when we want tell somebody about the study? Let see what some brother and sister dem who really know how to start Bible study say.
How you think we can tell the different-different people dem in this picture da we want study with them? (See paragraph 5-6)a
6. Wetin you can say to help the person to want talk with you again?
6 This brother and sister dem who they ask about how to start Bible study say da in some country it not good to tell people say, “I want study the Bible with you” or “I want teach you the Bible.” But maybe you can say something like “I want show you how we can use small time to learn plenty things from the Bible.” Or we can say something like, “I want us talk about the Bible together. Or you want know more about the Bible”? To help the person to want talk with you again, maybe you can say, “you will be surprise to know da the Bible can answer important question dem.” Or “the Bible da not just book from God, but it can help us in our every day life.” You can also say, “it can just take few minutes for you to learn something da will really help you in your life.” Try to not say word dem like “every week,” so da the person can’t feel da they force to do it.
7. What time some people can be convince da they na find the truth? (1 Corinthians 14:23-25)
7 Invite them to the meeting. During the apostle dem time, some people get convince da they na find the truth when they attend their first meeting. (Read 1 Corinthians 14:23-25.) Da the same way today plenty people can get close to Jehovah quick- quick when they start coming to meeting. So what time you mon invite people to the meeting? The Enjoy Life Now and Forever! book get one invitation in lesson 10. But don’t wait to reach to da lesson before you invite them to the meeting. You can invite the person to the Sunday meeting the first time you talk with them. Maybe you can tell them the public talk title or something from the Watchtower Study for da week.
8. Wetin we can say when we want invite somebody to the meeting? (Isaiah 54:13)
8 When we inviting somebody, we mon tell them what make our meeting different from the Church service dem he use to. One Bible student who attend the meeting for the first time ask her study conductor, “so the man who doing the Watchtower know everybody name?” The sister tell her da we can try to know everybody name in the congregation because we just like one family. The student say da it not like da in her church because plenty people not know each other name. We can also tell them another thing da make our meeting different. (Read Isaiah 54:13.) The reason why we can come to meeting da to worship Jehovah, to learn from him and to encourage each other. (Heb. 2:12; 10:24, 25) Da why our meeting organize to help us learn about Jehovah. So we can’t do anything da not in line with the Bible. (1 Cor. 14:40) The way our meeting place can be looking it can make it easy for us to learn. We can’t talk about politics in our meeting because we can’t support any party. We can’t argue about thing dem da everybody get their own feeling about. Before the student attend the meeting, it will also be good to show the video Wetin Can Happen Inside The Kingdom Hall? It will help him to know what to expect.
9-10. When you inviting somebody, wetin you can tell them so they can’t be scare to come to the meeting? (Also see the picture.)
9 Some people can be scare to attend our meeting because they can be thinking da we will take dem from their church. So wetin you can tell the person so they can’t be scary? You can tell dem da we can be happy when people visit us. And they na force to say or do anything. They can invite their whole family, even if they get small-small children. We can also tell them da to our meeting, parents and children can sit down together and they can learn the same thing. Like da, the parents can know what their children learning. (Deut. 31:12) We can’t collect offering to our meeting. But we can do what Jesus say. He say: “You got it free, give it free.” (Matt. 10:8) You can also tell the person da they not force to wear expensive clothes before they come to the meeting. Da the heart God can see and not the way the person looking.—1 Sam. 16:7.
10 Then when the person come to the meeting, do what you able to do to make him feel free. Show him to the elder dem and to some brother and sister dem in the congregation. If he feel the people there friendly, he will want come back. During the meeting if he not get Bible, share your own with him and help him to understand the talk or the publication we studying.
When the person start coming to the meeting, da the more they will draw close to Jehovah (See paragraphs 9-10)
WETIN YOU CAN DO WHEN YOR START THE STUDY?
11. How you can show da you respect the person time?
11 What some thing dem we mon remember when we start studying with somebody? Respect the person time. For example, if yor agree to do the study on certain day and time, go by it even if people in your area not respect time. Also do your best to not stay long on the first study. Some brother and sister dem who know how to conduct study good, say it good to cut the first study short even if the person want yor to stay long. And don’t talk plenty, but allow the student to talk more.—Prov. 10:19.
12. Wetin we mon do by the time we start studying with somebody?
12 By the time we start studying with somebody, we want help dem to know Jehovah and Jesus and to love them. To do this one, we mon always use the Bible and not our own idea. (Acts 10:25, 26) The apostle Paul set good example for us. When he use to be teaching people, he always use to focus on Jesus Christ. Because da Jesus the one Jehovah sent to help us to know Him good-good. (1 Cor. 2:1, 2) Paul also make it clear da it important to help Bible students to get good-good qualities da looking like gold, silver, and rock dem da get value. (1 Cor. 3:11-15) Some of this quality dem da faith, wisdom, understanding, and fear of Jehovah. (Ps. 19:9, 10; Prov. 3:13-15; 1 Pet. 1:7) Follow Paul example by helping your Bible student dem to get strong faith and good friendship with Jehovah their loving Father.—2 Cor. 1:24.
13. How we can be patient and understand people when we teaching them? (2 Corinthians 10:4, 5) (Also see the picture.)
13 Like Jesus, be patient and try to understand people when you teaching them. Don’t ask question dem da will embarrass the person. If he finding it hard to understand certain thing, don’t force it. Yor can pass by it and come back to it later on. (John 16:12; Col. 2:6, 7) The Bible say da false teachings looking like “strongly entrenched things” da hard to overcome. Da mean it can’t be easy for the student to stop believing something da he na stay long believing. (Read 2 Corinthians 10:4, 5) So Instead of forcing the student to accept something da he not understand, first help him for the truth to touch his heart and for him to trust in Jehovah. Like da, it will be easy for him to stop believing the false teaching.—Ps. 91:9.
Give the student time to think about what he learning and for the truth to touch his heart (See paragraph 13)
WHEN SOMEBODY COME TO THE MEETING FOR THE FIRST TIME
14. How we mon treat somebody who come to the meeting for the first time?
14 Jehovah want us to treat everybody with love no matter where they coming from or their background. (Jas. 2:1-4, 9) So how we can show love to somebody who come to the meeting for the first time?
15-16. How we can help somebody who come to our meeting for the first time to feel free?
15 Some people can come to our meeting just to see what can happen there. And other people can come because somebody from different area invite them. So when you see new person to the meeting, talk with them. Be happy to welcome them, but don’t do it too much before they be embarrass. Ask them to sit down with you. Share your Bible and other publications with them or give them their own. You can also think about other thing dem you can do to make them feel free. One man who visit the Kingdom Hall for the first time, tell the brother who welcome him da he wor shame because he wor not dress fine like everybody. To make him feel free, the brother tell him da all of us the same even though we dress fine for the meeting. After some time, the man get baptize. But he never forget about how the brother make him to feel good da first day. Let always remember this one: When we talking with people who come visit us to the meeting, we mon be careful to not ask question about thing dem da will embarrass them or something da not our business.—1 Pet. 4:15.
16 We can also show love to the people who come to our meeting by respecting them when we lecturing, commenting, or giving talk. When we talking about people who not Jehovah Witness, we mon not use word dem da will make our visitor vex or da will make them to not want come back. (Titus 2:8; 3:2) For example, we not want talk about their belief in the way da will not show respect. (2 Cor. 6:3) The brother dem who can give public talk mon really be careful about this one. When they giving public talk, they mon also explain the meaning for word dem da people who not Jehovah Witness not know.
17. Wetin we mon do when we find people with “good heart”?
17 Our preaching work getting more important every day. And we will continue to find people who get good heart and want live forever. (Acts 13:48) When we find people who want listen, we mon ask them to study the Bible and invite them to the meeting. When we do this one, we will be helping them to get on the “road da people passing on to get life.”—Matt. 7:14.
