Continue to Make Your Friendship With Jehovah Strong

1. What some thing dem human being need? (Matthew 5:3)

JEHOVAH know what human being need. For example, we need food, clothes and safe place to live. If we not get any of this thing dem, life will be hard on us. Apart from this thing dem, Jehovah know da human being need something else. And da for us to know him and depend on him to direct us. (Read Matthew 5:3.) So if we really want be happy, we mon know da we need to get good friendship with him and continue to trust him.

2. How our situation looking like beggar?

² The word they use to translate “really need God” carry the idea of somebody who can beg and they need help. Imagine this beggar who clothes dirty on him and he not get anything to eat. He can sit down in the sun whole day and in the night he can be cold bad way. People can’t go around him because of the way he looking. He can be tire and he can’t be happy. This beggar know da he need help to get strength and for him to continue living. Da the same way people who know da they really need God in their life can really want beg him so he can help them. And they can listen to him.

3. Wetin we will talk about in this article?

³ In this article, we will talk about one woman who beg Jesus to help her. We will learn how we can follow her example if we want Jehovah to continue to direct us. Then we will talk about Peter, Paul and David example. All this men dem really wanted God to direct them.

THREE IMPORTANT QUALITY DEM DA WE NEED

4. Wetin the Phoenician woman wanted Jesus to do for her?

⁴ One day, one Phoenician woman come to Jesus. Her daughter wor “suffering bad way because she get demon.” (Matt. 15:​21-28) The woman fall down on her knee and start begging Jesus to help her daughter. Let see what we can learn from the way this woman beg Jesus to help her.

5. Wetin Jesus do for the woman and why he do it? (Also see the picture.)

⁵ The Phoenician woman wor really humble. Why we say this one? Because she not get vex with the way Jesus answer her. He compare her to baby dog da people who wor not Jews use to be having in their house. If da wor you, wetin you wor coming do? You wor coming get vex and stop asking Jesus to help you? The woman not act like da. She wor humble and she continue to ask Jesus to help her. Wetin make her to do it? She wor having faith in Jesus. In fact, when Jesus see how this woman faith wor strong, it make him to want help her. Even though he just come from telling her da he only come help the Israelite dem, Jesus help the woman and move the demon from in her daughter.

6. How we can follow the Phoenician woman example?

⁶ If we want benefit from the way Jehovah directing us, we need to follow this woman example. We mon be humble, get strong faith and continue asking God to help us. Only humble person can continue begging God to help them. We mon also get strong faith in Jesus Christ and trust the people he using to direct his disciple dem. (Matt. 24:​45-47) When we show this quality dem, Jehovah and Jesus can be happy and they will help us and direct us. (Compare James 1:​5-7.) Now let see how Jehovah can direct us and give us the thing dem we need to be happy. We will also see what we can learn from Peter, Paul and David da will help us to benefit from the thing dem Jehovah can provide for us.

CONTINUE STUDYING THE BIBLE LIKE PETER

7. Wetin Jesus tell Peter, and what else Peter suppose to do? (Hebrews 5:14–6:1)

⁷ Let look at the apostle Peter example. He wor one of the first Jews to know da Jesus wor the Messiah and da Jehovah wor using him to teach people about “everlasting life.” (John 6:​66-68) Before Jesus go back to heaven he tell Peter say: “Feed my young sheep.” (John 21:17) Peter obey Jesus and he help to teach the brother and sister dem in the congregation. And Jehovah use him to write two books in the Bible. But Peter also suppose to study God Word for hisself. For example, he study the letter dem da Paul write da wor already part of God Word. Peter say da some of the thing dem Paul write wor “hard to understand.” (2 Pet. 3:​15, 16) But Peter continue studying this thing dem. He wor having faith da Jehovah wor coming help him to understand and apply the thing dem he learn.—Read Hebrews 5:14–6:1.

8. Wetin Peter do when Jehovah give him new direction?

⁸ Because Peter wor having strong faith in Jehovah, he obey Jehovah direction. For example, one day one angel tell Peter in vision to eat some animal dem da Moses Law say the Jews mon not eat. Peter who wor Jew his whole life wor thinking da the thing the angel say wor not correct. Peter say: “Lord, no, I can’t do it because I never eat anything da not holy and clean.” Then the angel tell him say: “Stop calling the thing dem God na clean, dirty.” (Acts 10:​9-15) Peter understand the point. How we know? Right after Peter see the vision, three men dem come to his house. They say their master Cornelius say Peter mon go. If Peter wor not coming see the vision, he wor not coming agree to enter Cornelius house because Cornelius wor Gentile. And the Jews use to look at the Gentiles to be people who not clean. (Acts 10:​28, 29) But Peter not waste time to accept this new direction da Jehovah give him. (Prov. 4:18) So he preach to Cornelius and everybody da wor in his house. All of them put faith in Jesus, receive the holy spirit, and get baptize.—Acts 10:​44-48.

9. What the two ways we can benefit when we learn to study thing dem da hard to understand?

⁹ Like Peter, we need to study the Bible every day. Most of the time, we will like to read thing dem da easy to understand. But we mon learn to study thing dem da hard to understand too. So we mon take our time to study the Bible good-good. And it important for us to try hard to understand thing dem da we not use to understand before. Why? Because we will benefit in two ways: (1) We will learn thing dem about Jehovah da will make us to love him and respect him more. (2) It will encourage us to tell other people about our wonderful heavenly Father. (Rom. 11:33; Rev. 4:11) Another lesson we can learn from Peter example da: When Jehovah and his organization change the way we understand certain thing from the Bible, we mon be quick to accept it. Da the only way Jehovah will continue to direct us and we be able to serve him and be faithful to him.

FOLLOW PAUL EXAMPLE AND GET QUALITY DEM DA CAN MAKE GOD HAPPY

10. According to Colossians 3:​8-10, wetin we need to do to make Jehovah happy?

¹⁰ If we want be happy and allow Jehovah to direct us, we need to get quality dem da will make Jehovah happy. And Jehovah na show us how we can learn this quality dem. (Read Colossians 3:​8-10.) It can take time and effort to learn this quality dem da can make Jehovah happy. Let look at Paul example. From the time he wor young, he try hard to make God happy. (Gal. 1:14; Phil. 3:​4, 5) But he not really understand how to worship God the right way and he wor not know the truth about Jesus. Also, Paul wor proud so he use to do thing dem da make God to feel bad. Da what make Paul to say he “wor not having respect for anybody.”—1 Tim. 1:13.

11. What kindna change Paul wor suppose to make? Explain.

¹¹ Before Paul can become Christian, he use to be quick to get vex. According to the Bible, one time Paul wor vex bad way with Jesus disciples da he wanted to kill them. (Acts 9:1) So after Paul become Christian, he wor suppose to work hard to control his anger. And it help him to be patient and kind. (Eph. 4:​22, 31) But Paul still make mistake. One time when he and Barnabas not agree on certain thing, they get vex with each other and they start making serious palaver. (Acts 15:​37-39) Da time, Paul not control his anger. But he not give up. He continue to work hard to be the kindna person da will make Jehovah happy.—1 Cor. 9:27.

12. Wetin help Paul to be able to change his old way?

¹² Paul wor able to change his old way because he wor humble. (Phil. 4:13) Like Peter, Paul depend on Jehovah to help him change his way and not on his own strength. (1 Pet. 4:11) But still, sometime Paul use to make mistake and he use to feel discourage. But when he start feeling like da, he use to remember all the thing dem Jehovah na do for him. And to show da he grateful, he continue trying hard to make some change dem in his life and to make Jehovah happy.—Rom. 7:​21-25.

13. How we can follow Paul example?

¹³ Even if we na stay long serving Jehovah, we need to continue to work hard to follow Jehovah example. Sometime we will make mistake. For example, sometime we can get vex or we can say or do something to somebody da they not like. When da one happen to us, we mon not be thinking da we not able to make Jehovah happy. But we mon continue trying our best to make change in our life. (Rom. 12:​1, 2; Eph. 4:24) And we mon remember one important thing: If we want continue to make change in our life, we mon allow Jehovah to teach us and try to know him good-good.

FOLLOW DAVID EXAMPLE AND ALLOW JEHOVAH TO PROTECT YOU

14-15. How Jehovah can protect his people? (Psalm 27:5) (Also see the picture.)

¹⁴ To really be happy, we need Jehovah to protect us. How Jehovah can protect us and wetin we mon do so da he can protect us?

¹⁵ King David wor sure da when he going through hard time, Jehovah wor coming protect him. (Read Psalm 27:5.) How Jehovah can protect his people today? Jehovah can protect us from anybody and anything da can make us to stop serving him forever. Even if people try to stop us from worshiping him, He promise us da he will protect our friendship with him. (Ps. 34:7; Isa. 54:17) Satan, his demons and the people dem he using get power. But Jehovah get power pass all of them. Even if they kill us, Jehovah will bring us back to life. (1 Cor. 15:​55-57; Rev. 21:​3, 4) Jehovah can also help us when we feeling discourage so da we can’t stop serving him. (Prov. 12:25; Matt. 6:​27-29) And our loving Father Jehovah na give us our brother and sister dem who can encourage us and support us when we going through problem. He na also give us the elder dem to teach us and help us to continue to get strong faith. (Isa. 32:​1, 2) And when we go to meeting, we can learn other way dem da we can allow Jehovah to help us and protect us.—Heb. 10:​24, 25.

16. How Jehovah protect David?

¹⁶ David obey Jehovah and because of da, Jehovah protect him and help him to make good decision. And this one make him happy. (Compare Proverbs 5:​1, 2.) But when David disobey Jehovah, he suffer because he make bad decision. And Jehovah not stop the bad thing from happening to him. (2 Sam. 12:​9, 10) But sometime David use to suffer because other people treat him bad. When da one happen, David use to pray to Jehovah and tell him everything da wor in his heart and Jehovah use to protect him. How Jehovah do it? He comfort David by promising him da he will take care of him. He also make David to know da he love him.—Ps. 23:​1-6.

17. How we can follow David example?

¹⁷ We can follow David example by praying to Jehovah and looking for his advice da will help us to make good decision. We mon remember da if we disobey Jehovah, he will not stop the bad thing da will happen to us because of the bad decision we make. (Gal. 6:​7, 8) But sometime, we can suffer because of other reason dem and not because we disobey Jehovah. When da one happen, we mon pray to Jehovah to help us and tell him everything da in our heart. Then he will comfort us and help us know da he love us.—Phil. 4:​6, 7.

CONTINUE TO DEPEND ON JEHOVAH TO DIRECT YOU

18. What kindna thinking plenty people get today, and wetin we mon do if we want Jehovah to continue to direct us? (Also see the pictures.)

¹⁸ Our yeartext for 2026 say: “People who know da they really need God in their life can be happy.” It really important today for us to do what Jesus say and depend on Jehovah. Why? Because plenty people today say da they not need God to direct them. Also, some people believe in God but they can want worship him their own way. And other people can depend on human being to direct them. And this one can make them to not be happy. We mon not follow their example. So wetin we mon do to continue to depend on Jehovah? We mon continue to study the Bible and learn to show quality dem da will make Jehovah happy. We mon also obey Jehovah and allow him to protect us.
