Baptism Can Bring Blessings!

Jesus said that Christians must get baptize. (Read Matthew 28:​19, 20.) What baptism mean? And wetin someone must do to get baptize?

1. What baptism mean?

The word “baptize” coming from one Greek word. It mean “to put” under water. When they were baptizing Jesus, his whole body went under the Jordan River, and then he came “up out of the water.” (Mark 1:9, 10) That the same way they can baptize true Christians by putting their whole body under the water.

2. Wetin baptism show?

When somebody get baptize, it show that the person na dedicate their life to God. How someone can dedicate their life to God? Before somebody get baptize, they can pray to Jehovah and tell him that they want serve him forever. In their prayer, the person promise that they will serve only Jehovah. The most important thing in their life will be doing Jehovah will. The person will choose to “disown himself and keep following” Jesus teachings and example. (Matthew 16:24) When the person give their life to Jehovah and get baptize, it will help them to get close friendship with Jehovah and with their brothers and sisters.

3. How someone can prepare for baptism?

You can prepare for baptism by learning about Jehovah and having strong faith in him. (Read Hebrews 11:6.) The more you know Jehovah and the more your faith grow, it will make your love for Jehovah to grow. It will make you to want preach about Jehovah and to live the way he want us to live. (2 Timothy 4:2; 1 John 5:3) When somebody live “worthily of Jehovah in order to please him fully,” maybe the person will decide to give their life to Jehovah and get baptize.​—Colossians 1:9, 10.a

4. We can learn from how they baptize Jesus

Read Matthew 3:13-17 to learn more about how they baptize Jesus. Then answer the question them together:

  • You think Jesus was baby when he got baptize?

  • How Jesus was baptize? You think they just waste water on his head?

When Jesus got baptize, he started doing the special work that God give him to do. Read Luke 3:21-23 and John 6:38, and answer the question together:

  • After Jesus got baptize, what work he put first in his life?

5. Baptism that goal that you able to reach

Maybe the idea of giving your life to Jehovah and getting baptize will look big in your eyes first. But small-small, you can start trusting yourself and make that important decision. To see some people who na do it, play the VIDEO.

Read John 17:3 and James 1:5, and answer the question together:

  • Wetin can help somebody to be ready for baptism?

A. A woman making a personal dedication to God in prayer. B. The same woman getting baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses by complete water immersion.
  1. Dedication mean, to give your life to Jehovah and be ready to serve him forever

  2. Baptism mean to show to everybody that you na give your life to God

6. When we get baptize, it make us part of Jehovah family.

When we get baptize, we can be part of one family that together all over the world. Even though we come from different-different places and backgrounds, all of us get the same beliefs and live the same way Jehovah say we must live. Read Psalm 25:14 and 1 Peter 2:17, and answer the question together:

  • What part baptism can play in your friendship with Jehovah and your friendship with your brothers and sisters?
