Elizabeth Born Boy Child

More than 400 years after they built Jerusalem fence again, one priest name Zechariah and his wife, Elizabeth, wor living near the city. They been marry for plenty years. But they wor not having any child. One day, when Zechariah wor offering incense in the part of the temple they call Holy, angel Gabriel appear to him. Zechariah wor scare, but angel Gabriel tell him say: ‘Don’t be scare. I bring you good news from Jehovah. Your wife, Elizabeth, will born boy child and you mon name him John. Jehovah na choose John to do special work.’ Zechariah ask him: ‘Why I mon believe you? Me and my wife too old to born.’ Than angel Gabriel say: ‘Da God send me to give you this news. But because you not believe me, you will not be able to talk until your wife born.’

Zechariah stay long in the temple more than the time he suppose to stay there. So as soon he come outside, the people wanted to know wetin happen. Zechariah wor not able to talk. He wor only able to throw signs with his hands. Da how the people get to know da God give message to Zechariah.

After some time, Elizabeth get pregnant and born boy child, just how the angel say it. Her friend and relative dem come see the baby. They wor too happy for her. Elizabeth say: ‘His name John.’ Then the people say: ‘Nobody in your family get da name. Call him Zechariah, after his pa.’ But Zechariah write and say: ‘His name John.’ Right away, Zechariah start talking again! The news about the baby spread all over in Judea. And the people wor thinking: ‘How this child will be when he get big?’

Then Jehovah put his holy spirit on Zechariah. Zechariah start prophesying: ‘Let praise Jehovah. Jehovah promise Abraham da He will send the savior, the Messiah, to save us. John will be prophet, and he will prepare the way for the Messiah.’

Something special also happen to Mary, Elizabeth relative. We will see it in the next lesson.
