Prepare Upbuilding Comments

At our congregation meetings, we have the privilege to encourage our brothers and sisters through our comments. (Heb. 10:24, 25) How can we prepare comments that truly build others up?

• Pray to Jehovah. Ask him to help you make a comment that honors him and encourages others.​—Ps. 35:18.

• Aim to do more than simply read from the publication. When you answer in your own words, others will benefit as they hear your expression of faith.

• Keep your comment brief. Short and simple comments are often the most encouraging and allow more people to participate in the meeting.​—Prov. 10:19.

• Keep your comment positive. Avoid using your comment to counsel or criticize the congregation or a fellow Christian.

Even if you are not called on to comment, you can still build others up. Listen attentively, and express appreciation for their comments.​—Prov. 10:21.
